I often leave the extra tabs and flaps on the journal, I just turn them in and glue them down and cover them with more card or some paper. They make the journal stronger and give it cleaner more durable edges.
I miss my childhood. I love doing those. It's good that you teach us how to reuse the paper or snacks' box. I m watching you always coz I enjoy it and it's useful for me so much.
This is amazing for people who have no knowledge of journal making. It is also a way to motivate those who write and do many things in their journals without having to buy expensive things, I absolutely love your work here😊💜
You made that really straight forward and I'm going to try my first journal making; it's small and not a huge loss if I mess up. Thankyou Johanna. Canada
Wow....I really love that binding method, so easy yet still looks great. You're so clever in your designs and I must give this a try. Thanks for sharing. It's a real gem of an idea.
I made my first one today. Thank you so much for making it real simple for us who thought it was a but daunting. I have subscribe to your channel and am looking forward to more content.
Love this one. It is genius! One hole binding, here I come :-) P.S. I love the way you use fabric and embroidery in your work. I am a multi media person as well. :-) Huggs from Germany and off to the next video. :-)
I LOVE this! Super cute! What was that paste you used to texture the cover? Do you have to use it? Is ther away to make it out of other materials you might have on hand? Thanks for showing how to make this cute journal. I think it would make a great gift too!
Thank you! I used texture paste! It’s pretty cheap at any art supply shop, but you could try searching a diy recipe to make your own, or if you used paper or something really thin for your focal point you may be able to get away with layers of paint! Alternatively you could layer something else around the image, like paper mache for example! 💕
@@JohannaClough Thank you so much for the info and all the suggestions, I really appreciate it! Love your channel, thank you for all the great content!💗👍
Hi I absolutely love your channel, I’m going to try my first one tomorrow can you please tell me what kind of needle that is? And are you just using ordinary thread?? Ty So Much❤
Ooh got to stop watching I making this now! Just adding I did it, worried about just one stitch but silly me, of course it worked 🤷♀️🤦♀️ as always tfs x
I love this so much!!! How long did you "cook" the coffee/tea stained papers in the oven and at what temperature? Thank you so much for sharing! How fun! :D
A normal oven yes, what I like to do is turn my oven on and let it heat up for a while and then turn it completely OFF and place my papers inside, let them sit until it cools, take them out, reheat and repeat!
How long did you put them in the oven? Can this be done with a microwave as well? I love this video btw!! I am currently making a journal of my own because of this tutorial! ❤
Hello, I am crafter and we have an event where we copy a craft but does not have to be exactly the same. I like the way you recycle the box so I chose this craft. Would you allow me to copy this craft of yours?
I use strong nylon string or a strong waxed string so it doesnt break as binding. Embroidery thread can work for lighter weight journals that wont have to be as durable, but that option isnt the strongest
@@gnuhcoyesegalliv8918 i do used waxed linen thread but Lillian’s suggestions are great! I always recommend using whatever you have access to and just seeing if it works!
Thank you for simplifying the binding for us who get intimidated by some of the more complex binding processes. Very appreciative.
🥰🥰🥰

Ohhh good idea. You could also add some designs to them, to give it more character
I can't wait to try this binding method! So simple. Also love the texture paste around the fabric. Another thing to try out!
You are so amazing. I love to watch you create.

I'm so excited to make one now that I see how simple it is. Loved that you used reused fabric for the front of your journal. Thank you!
Hi! I just wanted to say that you truly are one of the biggest inspirations. Your journals are beautiful
This is probably the easiest sewn binding method I have ever seen. I will attempt. Thanks Johanna!

What can you use instead of texture paste? I'm not certain where I can get that from. Thanks.
I love it I'm going to make one and make it a planner
Lovely!
Brilliant thanks again 💫⭐️
Can we use a normal oven to dry da papers and for how long should I leave them in the oven??
A normal oven yes, what I like to do is turn my oven on and let it heat up for a while and then turn it completely OFF and place my papers inside, let them sit until it cools, take them out, reheat and repeat!
A hair dryer would would work that’s what I use
