Looks like the semi cab, notice the split windshield. My dad had a 1970 C70 gas job back in the day that used a modified version of the pickup cab, would have been the same as this on a tractor/semi frame.
Awesome job. Love the start button up high. Don't care what people say about all their opinions about this. You built what you wanted and its pretty damn cool.
Sounds good.I have a Ford F-250 and thought about a Detroit change. The problem with current diesel pickups is reliability of the electronic sensors and components. I had to be towed 3 time in 2 months. I have 2 Detroit 671s from the late 1940s still going strong in my boat. I ran twin 6v53s in the Navy in Vietnam patrol boats. Good engine.
Yes, I am running into the same dilemma. I want a diesel truck but I want it with mechanical fuel injectors and injector pump. I would like to have a 4-53T Detroit in a pickup or a mini semi like in this video.
@@Saltysailor83 I ran 6v53s on PBRs in Vietnam. And many other 2 cycle Detroits commercial fishing, etc. Very reliable, especially compared to electronic diesels we have now.

Those old Seagraves with Detroits had a sound all their own. Even with the same detroit, they sounded different from American laFrance or Salisbury rigs.
Yes the ALF's and WLF's with 6-71's all sounded throaty while the same engines in the Seagraves all screamed and had more supercharger sound.
