One to walk with, you dont even have to speak much, its healthy to walk, maybe do a cold dip.Yeah sometimes its hard to break into a group, im social and im an introvert and an extrovert, its mood. Keep eating healthy, go for walks, value your owntime. Its ok to be a hermit, youve got a roof over your head, thats good. Language thats a big one, really big, learn the lingo. Australians don't have friends.. it's unfortunately so. If you befriend people in Australia they will mostly be through some specific hobby and will be one person but even then Australians can easily break friendships with people over trivial things.. Shocking to say the most sociable or willing to befriend strangers are Arabs from the Levant.. Lebanon and the region , they are scheaming cunning fuckers in some ways but I noticed if they were civil and reasonable you could build a friendly relationship with them easily and share things. Sad to say the friendliest people in Australia are probably Lebanese
I'm the same, Ive lived in a van for 7 years, I love the solitude and peace and quiet. I have friends I barely see but that's how I like it. I do work part time so I have that contact.... But I'm absolutely fine in my own company. I find humanity has gone insane and people don't relate to me. But I'm strong and have found peace in spirituality and nature. I also desperately need a dog to share my walks with, but I need a bigger van first... If your happy and well then living life is all you need. Some folk are just simple and grounded and that's fine. Some people can be too extroverted and that's not healthy. You seem a good bloke that many people would like to befriend, I've found if you want friends you have to push it and purposely get into their lives. But personally I don't do that, I'm happy alone and I don't worry what people think. But also that person on new yr may also feel the same as you. Happy new year hope you have a good one

And sometimes when I look into others life I see that deficit and that is kinda caging. So I want something that I actually dont want lol. I suppose it comes down to the want of being self sufficient. Plus a lot of people are really hard to connect with I find. But that's because I don't fit in to the crowd. In 2025 people don't want to make friendships. It's all about want you can do for them. I now avoid them. unfortunately it's the changing of the times. You do have to learn how to open your door to people but you've also know when to close that door. I live in Australia most people I know need help in there lives. I told him I dont want money, just a contact to some people for work. He didnt provide that, so I am not interested in being mates. A year later he came by, said he didnt forget and wondered when i will be back here (as worked in aus). Guess what if he actually wondered he could have sent a text? I told him we had an agreement with the contact. Those contact didnt exist anymore... I am not saying we couldn't spent time now and be friends, but I pass on it as it is insincere.

Hej are you from Netherlands ? Swedes are taught english as a second language so the majority of the understand quite alot and can speak fairly good english. Can i ask you what part of sweden are you living or is it a secret ? What do you do for a job ? You can learn to speak basic swedish on youtube etc. What do you do for a Hobby etc ?
hej, original German. Swedish people can speak English, they are just often a little bit reluctant. I am a carpenter living in Swedish Lapland but as well experienced in the mining industry. You are right on learning Swedish but I am lazy in that aspect and further will take a long time to learn as I dont use it much. Hobbys... difficult. I do enjoy the Outdoors (hiking, mountain biking, fishing, snowmobiling, chill in the hottub, watch sky/animals), building, filming, park and watch people in town (no creep lol), and of course the internet.
I guess it has to do with camera lens and due to me living up North so we dont have much daylight here, often the sun doesn't even come over the tree line
I disagree, Swedish people are very willing to speak English and many other European languages! I worked for a Swedish company for 16 years and never had a problem with language! You have put yourself in a situation that has isolated you, if you are a natural loner then that’s fine go ahead and be a loner. Don’t expect others people to make a special effort for you!

I was in a pub/event with a dj weeks ago. A lot of times they were hesitant when I was only able to speak english. I approached some people, some of them turned out to be foreigners and they all shared the same experience. Apart of that its my turn to learn the language of the country I live in.
