    2:30 The ironstone forms under very slow sedimentation rates and produces acidic pore waters so the aragonitic shells of the ammonites get dissolved. The pectens are thicker so preserve better.
    Where was this on the coast? I'm around whitby this coming week and ironstone is one of my research projects, so would be good to inspect those blocks.

      Though not this location, I think staithes would be a good bet. The right hand side. I think they used to mine the iron stone there. Plenty of seams of it there that will have tumbled down onto the beach
