- Once again, the rugged Emmental (Kt. Bern - Switzerland) poses special challenges for man and machine.
The gradients of up to 60% were mastered with ease, apart from a few slides, and the technical faults on the machine were also resolved within a useful time👨🔧
Größten Respekt solche Flächen zu bewirtschaften...
Echt hammer...
Besten Dank, ich werd`s gerne weiterleiten 😁 gruss Berner
The most impressive part is that you can farm hillsides like that without it washing out every time it rains. Nice stand of wheat. Sweet combine. Beautiful countryside.
Many Thanks. Yes, we were very happy with the result of the harvest, but you are right: there is a real risk of a strong thunderstorm. Luckily we usually have normal rainfall here
I like how you take your time and your easy on the machine. Proof you don't have to be in a hurry all the time.
The optimal time window for harvesting is not very large and usually everyone wants to harvest at the same time. Nevertheless, you have to keep calm in such terrain, the mistakes here can have fatal consequences
No satellite guidance needed here!!! Just a talented driver!! Deutz…what a machine👍
Definitely not needed here, but as you mentioned, a driver with experience 😁
Since these machines are available, farmers' work has become more efficient than ever
Weiter so !
Tolles Video
ruclips.net/video/h0kxCsBZrX4/видео.html anderes Feld, gleiche Kombination 👍
Sehr cooles Video! Weiter so👍🏼.
Der ist zum Skfahren zu kurz 😉
9:06 I'm just amazed at how much traction this thing has!
All-wheel drive and the drive can be locked at the front and rear. More is no longer possible
You cant build a cab big enough for that set of balls. 😁
😆
Respekt, ganz großen Respekt für diese Extremdrescherei!
Besten Dank, ich werde es gerne weiterleiten 👍
I am proud of Switzerland and Swiss farmers
Thank you, I am happy to pass on the compliments 😁
Svaka cast kombajneru 👍👍👍 za ovo treba i znanje i hrabrost
Prije svega, puno iskustva
Jolie vidéo 😍👍
Super machine 👍😍👏
I would like to see the tractor tilling and planting those hills.
ruclips.net/video/h0kxCsBZrX4/видео.html it is from a different field but with the same combination
Lieber Gott absolut super.
No holland, hello switzerland 👍
ruclips.net/video/h0kxCsBZrX4/видео.html
Amazing Machine, Phenomenal Traction, Insanely Good Engineering and A Brilliant Pilot...
Thank you, yes the combination with the area is really impressive 👍
Great video the guy who drives the combine needs a medal and lots of money to do that he is braver than me I worry it would turn over love watching
A big cup of "courage" in the morning can help 😁
👍
ok you win im not going to talk about how our farm is hilly anymore :P
😳😳😳😳😳😲 steep hills and skilled operator. At least you wouldn't break any fence post with the walker box swing. Stay safe 🏴
Thank you very much, we wish you the same
Can't get enough of this power!
This is crazy farming
But it works well because we have the machines and the experience
That is very impressive. I could put another 60 acres into production with this machine. I only shudder to think what would happen if the self-leveling would fail with a full grain tank(?)
A machine this old doesn't have AUTOMATIC leveling!
And whether, the leveling is done automatically
If it gets really steep, the grain tank will be emptied before the maximum
Great operating skill..
Yes, the driver really has his machine under control
Beeindruckend 😃👍
That is one impressive combine and driver 👍👍👍
Thank you, yes the machine has been well adapted for such operations 👍
Big combine,Crazy driver!!!😂😂😂👍👋🇮🇹🇮🇹👋👋
Exactly the right mixture that is needed for such operations 😁
Alter der hat Eier 👍👍👍
Ja und höchstwahrscheinlich 2 davon. 🤭
😁😁😁
I’d like to buy that operator a beer! Can’t imagine it’s economical to farm this type of land without heavy governmental subsidies. Why no dual tires?
That's what I was thinking!Looks like a great crop! Didnt know wheat was worth that much! Its probably subsidized by the European Union and : who else?
@@paulratzlaff2935 Yes, Switzerland is part of the European Union. NO IT IS NOT!!!!!! So they are not subsidized by the EU. Not every agricultural region in the world is as flat as the Midwest of the USA or Canada. Switzerland is full of hills and mountains and there are farmers there, too. Whether you use the land for dairy farming and make hay or grow grain, as here, doesn't matter then. Manufacturers of agricultural machinery have adapted to this and offer special machines for use in mountainous regions. And not every farmer wants to import his grain at higher costs. Mya be they are subsidized by the Swiss government but farmes and their work are worth it
The contact surface of dual tires is not necessarily larger on such a slope. The force on the wheel bolts could be too great and break.
This is a very good machine with a very good driver... mygod.. :)
Thank you, I will be happy to forward it to the driver
Impressive
Zu stark👍🏻
Herrlich☀️👏
Vielen Dank 👍
Having run equipment on hillsides like that I gotta say, My sphincter was puckered tight through most of this video.
😁😁
Da müssen sich Wühlmäuse auch anseilen!
Die haben da nichts verloren 😆
That operator has ice water running through his veins. Fearless does not say enough. Sooo many possible failure points causing a catastrophic accident. Even dropping into a gopher hole could end it all. Whew!
i would say clueless rather than fearless.......hasnt had a fright of runaway machine yet......you know the one......mud in the tyres.....just the right amount of moisture on surface.....and boom......0-60 in 3 seconds down a hillside!😂
It's like in the movie "Avatar", he is connected to his horse 😁
Very impressive driver and combine !! How many change's of under pants does he go through in a day ??
Thank you, one change per day is usually sufficient 🤣
Video meraviglioso macchina stupenda 💪👍👋
Grazie mille, sì, siamo molto soddisfatti della macchina
Hard to believe those two cylinders on the rear wheels can handle that stress.
Believe me, they've been doing this for a long time with no problems
@@BernerLandtechnik yep, just saying those are some strong cylinders. Especially as long as they are. Not cheap by any means.
@@BernerLandtechnik What about the risk of a tire failure or some hydraulic failure? Wouldn't that mean an instant flip? The machine would probably stop somewhere down in the valley... The wheat is really nice, the yield was definitely not bad...which I really don't understand in those hills :-)
@@claycountykillers That's true, the quality has to be right. The diameter doesn't have to be bigger, it doesn't have to lift a heavy weight
@@jirisalda980 We can also fix tire damage or a hydraulic problem directly on site 😆 A rollover is of course the worst case, but it takes more than you think - fortunately. It takes a machinist who knows what he is doing and who knows the machine, every day brings different challenges. And yes, the yield was really satisfying
Crazy combine.
Thanks!
I have heard of these machines and their capabilities. What most folks don’t know, is the combine must remain level for it to work properly.
Combines do not have to stay level to work right. If that was the case then there’s a lot of states that couldn’t be cropped at all
I remember how cool it was when my dad bought our first hillside combine. I think it was about 1960. Dad explained the combine worked most effectively when the separator was level, but the header and other parts could adjust to fit the terrain. Looks like they grow great yields. We raised wheat and barley on a dry farm in Idaho, USA.
We are happy with the result, but there is always something to do 😁best greetings from Switzerland
Wow… hillside farming not for the faint hearted. Presume theres torque through the rear axis or just steering?
That's true, we haven't known anything else since childhood. The rear axle is also driven
Send this to Mike Mitchell!
Same thought 🙈🤷♀️😂
Totally different farming but both are impressive nonetheless.
But this combine small but very well built for this application, good bit of engineering.
It must not be too big for such operations
how's the leveling works? is it automatic or driver needs to do it?
automatic
These sidehill combines have been around for 40 years
That's quite possible
Pretty amazing machine ! Be interesting seeing the field get planted . Do you use a " No- Till " grain drill ?
Respekt, da braucht man schon Eier.
Super video
Vielen Dank 👍
awesome, some scenes look steep even on video in reality they must be scary to work on :-)
If you're scared, you had better get off here and go home. But you have to be aware of the dangers
@@BernerLandtechnik indeed, respect to the operators 👍
Very skilled and brave operator. At around 11:00 I almost thought he has to chain up. LOL Now let's bring in the round baler.
😁 We prefer square bales here
Those hydraulic pistons/rams over the back axle always look to me when fully extended as if they are about to break off. Do these machines have any form of "self leveling" system on them or is it all down to the operator, - however they work rather him than me in that cab. I just love the bit where the farmer is cutting the corn in a corner with a 'strimmer' and 'hand loading' it into the combine. Instead of "Extreme Sports" I suppose this is "Extreme Farming". - Frighteningly good video.
Self leveling. Watch some videos from the Palouse in Washington State
@@joegotz1971 Thank-you for that reply. - I presume you mean Washington State in the USA. Do you know if Deutz-Fahr still make them.? I can understand the machine 'self leveling' bit, - I presume it works on sensors, - is that what controls the angle of the header as well. I would have thought wider tyres, (or twins), for more grip or even tracks would be better on the front. I noticed in another video even a towed. 'Big Bale' baler couldn't follow the lines of straw properly and kept slipping down the slope causing the tractor driver to have to keep reversing to pick up what was missed.
@@christopherlovelock9104 The Palouse seems to have a lot of Case IH and believe they mostly use Hillco leveling systems. Probably with today’s technology the combine can drive itself.
@@christopherlovelock9104 This is one of my favorite videos.
ruclips.net/video/3iuKQKKJWqI/видео.html
Many Thanks. The level is set automatically, but the driver can intervene manually. And yes, even such a machine has its limitations. Then muscle power is needed again 😄
Impressionnant...
Merci 😁
The 4 way leveling was developed by international harvester in the late 50's
For the hills in America. The perfect engineering to keep the shoe and sieves level for maximum threshing efficiency.
The rotary technology phased the 4 way system to the side....
For farming in hills the 4 way system has future possibilities
My biggest fear would be losing traction going downhill and sliding into a ditch.
I can understand the fear. Luckily it doesn't go far down here
That's nuts!
This is true
i dont even like driving down off of the road , into the field. with out squaring the combine up to the down hill slope. you are nuts, harvesting that. i pulled out a slope indictor , to see what a 60% slope looks like. you are nuts. i think i will go buy a few more loads of gravel, for my field turn off. becasue my butt cheaks are now permanently puckered.
😁 We know the fields from an early age and know what is possible and what is not
If a special combine is used for cutting, then I take it drilling is done the normal way...or is it different..?
ruclips.net/video/h0kxCsBZrX4/видео.html

I think that machine is pretty amazing..I haven't seen them self-level like that... hut I wonder - would tracks work? Like those on a High Speed Dozer? Just a thought. Lol. Cool video though.
On wheat tracks would be like operating on ice. That straw is really really slick
Presumably the machine slipped sideways, it would only work up and down
I'd like to see them bail the straw
Wish granted

Round bail it 🤪
A film of this will follow. Let's see, maybe next week I'll have time to finish the video👍
