Quite frustrating as a Newcastle fan seeing everyone talk about how poor Spurs were. We took them apart regardless of defensive ineptitude. It’s was a ridiculous attacking display and ok come the end of the season I would happily say we’re overachieving but we’re overachieving due to hard work, incredible management and a team spirit that’s rarely been known at the club. It’s not luck and people need to appreciate that a lot more than they do. The most complimentary thing I’ve heard is ‘but take nothing away from Newcastle…’. Poor form really we were excellent given the disappointment at Villa and we needed a reaction… and we certainly got one. It’s a real shame it’s all about how bad the opposition were.

Aye. We've lost one home game all season due to a ten minute period of insanity in which Nick Pope got sent off and we conceded two goals. Only teams in Europe with a better defensive record than us this season are Napoli and Barcelona. We've had plenty of high-scoring wins as well, and Isak was injured for three months! Our mid-season "slump" was three defeats (one in a cup final and one against Man City away) and three draws and we had eight players on the pitch over the course of the game yesterday who were all here in the Bruce era 18 months ago when we were in a relegation battle and playing the worst football I've ever seen us play. It's absolutely insane how things have turned around so quickly.

Once he changed his tactics after 21 mins. Spurs probably played the best they’ve played for weeks holding Newcastle to 1-1 draw in that football cauldron can’t be underestimated. I’m sure if they play like that they’ll beat Man U easily. Remember spurs won’t be playing teams like Newcastle every week. Going St James was always going to end in a good hiding spurs have a lot of winnable games remaining.

One of the odd things about football is fans' abiding loyalty to their club. If Cadbury's replace the sugar in their chocolate with salt we'd all switch to another chocolate (I'm a Green & Blacks man myself) and then Cadbury's would have to put the sugar back in. Because it's football it's family and it's tribal we stick with our teams and that gives owners a huge buffer of support they wouldn't get in other businesses.

5:50 the troubling flip side to ‘all players want to live in London’ bs we here over and over. However not for the reason others might think because there are players who do want to play in London & only London. It is really no different to the players who want to be paid the most they can’t get no matter where or what club; and the end bit is what’s happening here… players are being signed for the London clubs not because they supported them, or followed them, ‘they have done so great and play greats style that suits me’… thing is everyone below Arsenal & Chelsea are signing players with a huge love of London, they don’t give two…… cares about the club, if board & fans think players are signing for any other reason they are dulled and that’s why a great manager is needed

Skipp is an average player and so are Sanchez, Dier, Lloris, Son, Davis, Emerson, Richarlison but the new coach should build the new team around Bentacur, keep Kane, Romero and Porro. And yes, Sessegnon should go back to the Championship and Perisic is definitely too old. Levy shouldn't be anywhere near Spurs for eternity!
