Suuuuuper interested in plant medicine! I've been able to work with peyote and ayahuasca, as well as kambo, mushrooms, etc. It was an intense time of growth and letting go. Being raised in the LDS church left its scars, and my family was as close to fundie as you could get without more wives. I've been microdosing with mushrooms ever since and it's truly mother earth's medicine!

Thank you for gathering the courage to explain the AUB religion to the public. One would think that the AUB would encourage members to go public about their faith in order to distinguish themselves from the Kingston clan and Warren Jeffs' FLDS. I suspect Kody started the show, thinking he would become such a PR poster child for the AUB. I wonder when Kody first admitted to himself that he was failing at polygamy.
I have so many questions. I am not sure what you have addressed already. Just some of my questions would be:
    1) when did you leave the AUB? When you first divorced your husband, were you still full members when you got a divorce and did you guys each seek releases?
    2) some people have said that the AUB has denied applications for release that are based on DV allegations. Is that accurstr? If so, is that something the current prophets intent to change?
    3) I understand that the faith encourages members to only marry another with the religion. Does AUB permit marriage with FLDS or is conversion to AUB faith required?
    4) when you left the AUB, did you feel pulled towards LDS? If so, how were you received by LDS?
    5) I know your dad is the prophet. Is he the only prophet or is there a management board of prophets? Is your dad the final say on matters of doctrine?
    6) we have learned that Kody brown and Robyn were against COVID vaccines. Was this part of the religious doctrine or was this a political issue for Kody?
    7) therapy support: The Browns opened up their family therapy sessions for the cameras. I suspect that they had some hurdles to climb to find an open minded therapist willing to work with the family in day to day relationship issues. Has the AUB tried to cultivate relationships with therapists, doctors and even lawyers so that it's members can feel comfortable with finding open minded peop,e.
    8) a lot of people have stated that the AUB barred minorities from being members of the church. Is this still the case? Do you know any AUB families of African American or Asian descent?
    9) what is expected, actions and behavior wise, of members in good standing? I assume 10% tithing. What about weekly attendance?
    10) Several Brown children have discussed honoring the Sabbath similar to Jews. Can you explain that part of the doctrine?
    11) beyond Mekanie's mom, are the rest of the parental units watching your podcast? Has your dad commented about your podcast?
    12) I am a divorce and adoption attorney in Missouri. I asked a few weeks ago, under another video, as to whether or not the AUB has set up any formal guidelines and expectations of financial child support and maintenance/alimony for supporting each wife during the marriage and even if there is a release sought?
    13) I am fairly certain that a creative attorney would be able to create a number of legal fictions that would secure each wives rights inside and outside of an AUB relationship. Has your father, as a prophet, made any efforts to bring predictability and stability to their created unions? If not, do you think your father w look ukd be open to said discussions? I would suspect that an attorney who is NOT in the AUB but believes in the right to create a consensual relationship would be a smart addition to the AUB family of professionals. What does the AUB recommend for estate planning to ensure financial stability if the husband passes away first?
    14) when and why did AUB lose its tax exempt status?
    15) it has been reported that Kody and Robyn are now members of a local Pentecostal church. Does their choice of new denomination surprise you or is it more compatible with AUB than night?
    Finally,
    16) Does the AUB do the baptism of the dead like the LDS? If there are differences, can you explain the differences?
    17) do you think your dad would ever agree to come in your podcast to explain the faith in better detail for those wanting to be accurate in it's understanding while trying not to conflate FLDS with AUB.
    18) are women the only one who can a release or can men get a release?
I don’t expect you to answer all of these as a comment, but any you do would be great. I asked these as possible future video topics for you to possibly,y address# have you considered setting up a moderator to put together your questions and responses?
I am so thrilled that you guys are doing this.

Thank you for your patience in my reply. I wanted to get back to your questions when I had a moment to give them the appropriate attention. I appreciate the thoughtfulness in which you addressed your questions. Please let me know if you have any others I can answer. I am going to make some videos on some of the questions directly.
1- I left when I was 25. Yes we were both still members. I sought out a release. He fought it every step. It took me years to finally be granted one.
2-I have heard this too that DV is not grounds for a release. It has to be something like adultery, murder etc. I hope my dad who is the current prophet changes that. Although he himself is guilty.
3- Yes, you can marry outside the AUB although it is highly discouraged. I know many who have married outside & brought those people back into the AUB to become members.
4- Yes, I immediately joined the LDS church. I was received very kindly. I did have to meet with some of the apostles however because I had been married in the AUB temple.
5- Yes, there is a council of 12 apostles exactly organized like the LDS church. Yes from the teachings I was taught he would be the final say in anything doctrinal.
6- I don’t know why they rejected the vaccines honestly. It isn’t part of the teachings at least it wasn’t when I was growing up.
7- Yes, my dad brought in a couples therapist that is based in the mormon religion to teach classes to anyone who wanted to attend. There are several doctors, lawyers, dentists etc that were born and raised in the AUB.
8- The AUB does not allow black people but I know several Asian people and of course Hispanic people. They have a temple in Mexico
9- yes, tithing is expected along with attendance to all or most meetings. Following the leadership etc
10-I was taught that Sunday was the Lords day. You honored the Sabbath by attending to the Lords work only on Sundays
11- Yes, several of my family members watch regularly. I have received mostly support. There are some who are hurt by my speaking out.
12- The AUB has a huge sect of members in Missouri. I don’t believe they currently have anything set up to support any wives or children. I don’t foresee them ever doing so either
13- This is a current situation for my father as my mother is leaving him after 50 years. I can’t speak too much on this right now but hopefully soon I will be able to. Right now they have no teachings regarding estates. They believe all property, material possessions, financial assets of any kind should be consecrated to the church after a person passes.
14-I don’t this exactly but I am guessing over 10 years ago (my guess is when the Virginia Hill lawsuit was won against the AUB)
15- I am not surprised about the church selection only that they actually decided to attend a church at all. It seems to me that fame has made religion less important to them.
16- Yes they do baptisms for the dead. I don’t believe there is a difference. It is the same ceremony
17-I think yes eventually he might come on my podcast. Right now he is to hurt that I have chosen to go public about my life. So that might take some time.
18- Men can absolutely request a release whenever they would like. It doesn’t mean they would be granted one however.

I think you two would be a fascinating duet of couples. He is a PhD psychologist and his wife holds her own with him and they have a lot to say about mental health and toxicity and Kody. I know they also want to be accurate as to what behavior they associate with which group.

    • @Familylawgroup
      @Familylawgroup 6 дней назад

@ thank you for your replies. I am Jewish so I am further impaired by not only not understanding all of the Mormon beliefs but struggling with the different Christian sects. People are often surprised to learn that you can be, and many are, Jewish atheists or agnostic because the Jewish faith doesn't have a he'll or prgurtory or devil. Satan is Aramaic for Adversary and that is all ihe is described as...a loud mouth who talks back, etc. In Jewish faith you are judged on your actions more than the reason for the actions which is very counter intuitive to Christians. I often to reconcile certain beliefs in prophets or intercessor prayers with idolatry. For Jews, that is such a big no no that we are forbidden to make any 3 dimensional represent at ns of anyone sent by G-d such as Prophet Elijah. They don’t want us to pray to anyone but the father directly. I am fascinated with open minded people willing to explain their faith backgrounds and history and current beliefs. Sharing is how we learn. So, again, thank you.

This is for Cory: before they tried to baptize me, I had to earn money from house chores or me and my brothers’ legit shoveling and newspaper businesses to tithe. My dad helped me calculate the amount (10% I usually paid in dimes 😁).
When the missionaries stop by my house I give them homemade brownies or cookies and a cold drink. They know I’m not ever going on their conversion list, but they’d often offer to mow. I never let them but in hindsight I think they’d prefer yardwork to knocking on doors and I should’ve just said “sure”.

I have a theory about Kody’s “safe” speech. If Meri was abusive to everyone (verbally & emotionally), then all the stories make sense. Why no one checks on her now, why the wives don’t talk to her. It would also explain Kody melting the ring, and why Kody wouldn’t tell her he was done. She isn’t “safe” to talk to or tell things to. To me he is using trauma speech. PS I do not believe he is a victim, but that he has adopted these things he has heard people say
