Absolutely beautiful to watch. You and Quincy are poetry in motion. You make it look sooo easy, but I know alot of time and effort went into this dance. You are both awesome to watch.
Caleb Schmidt Dude.... You have no idea how much skill it takes to even do this. I would like to see you try it lolol But seeing as how you can't even spell HORSE correctly I think it's best you do the animal a favor and don't even try.
Such a great story. The only problem is that the two of you make this dance looks so smooth and graceful that it is easy to miss just how much skill and practice it has taken to get to where you are.
Your awesome!! You too Jonathan! Zena - you worked with her at the Ohio Equine Affaire is doing great!! Thanks for the great start! Hope to see you again.
Wouldnt it be fun to have Cappi and I come in and 'duel' you in an English versus Western pole dance? Always a pleasure to watch you and Q. Sad he has lost his dapples.
Great stuff...wish you had used a "montura vaquera" (Spanish cowboy saddle..literally), but you were top notch anyway. Just want to explain to your viewers that this is a traditional tool in Spain (Spain in Europe, guys...not South Amercia). Cattle herds or ranch hands use them to separate animals out in the pastures as well as to (especially), test young future breeding cows as to their genes and guts. A bit like you guys galloping after steers in competition, in Spain they line up in twos galloping behind the young cow, one horseman keeps it in place in the middle, while the other pushes her rump with the pole to knock her down and watch her reaction as she gets up....if she charges a rider, pissed off as she is, good for her breeding genes, if she cowers away, she won't be considered a good breeder for the fighting bulls. I will say I have simply given you some general info, I in no way like or support anything to do with bullfighting in our country, none at all. Good job, man.
I am glad that you were able to connect with your horse with the use of a Garrocha, but I believe that you should show more respect to the customs of other cultures, first it is not something that bullfighters use, it is a tool that we utilize in the field to move, control and test brave cattle and in a way it would be the equivalent of a rope for a cowboy. Now if you look at the way that any vaquero is dressed in the field you will see that there is a lot of class, elegance and craftsmanship to the attire and that is what I am referring as respect for what it is an art of which you still have plenty to learn about.
Never gets old. Just amazing. What a connection. Great music too!
Thanks for listening!
Thats about as good of an example of great horsemanship as it get!. Hats off to you sir.

lovely to see again!!! I'm so inspired to try that with "my" Quincy! Also a rather challenging grey horse, half arab other half gypsy cob.
So many performance horses out there where they perform functions, but no connection. This was amazing!
Really wonderful performance, Jonathan. Some Grand Prix dressage riders would be envious of that!
Such a great story. The only problem is that the two of you make this dance looks so smooth and graceful that it is easy to miss just how much skill and practice it has taken to get to where you are.
Always a pleasure to watch you working!

The Garrocha is between 2.70 and 3.70 meters
Amazing!!!
