My first electric guitar was a 1989 Ovation Custom Legend, which I still have today, over 40 guitars later. I would never sell it. The tone and playablity of the neck are phenomenal. I am happy to be part of the Ovation family. Thanks Charley for keeping it alive.

I ordered an Adamas 1687GT-5 January 1st this year. Still waiting impatiently for it. Didn't know when I ordered the guitar it would be almost entirely handmade. I've had the 23 string version since 1993. Truly a work of art in sound, playability and craftsmanship.

I did buy my Ovation Legend Cutaway 1667 model in 1988 . It did cost about $1000, It was the first cutaway Legend here in Norway. It's builded like a tank with this alu rail for the truss rod. The humidity has been about 45 all the time. Has not adjusted truss rod and it stay in tune. And the intonation is very good. Its sound wonderful with my Hendriksen Jazzamp. I use a tick Dunlop jazz pick and ''tone'' down the tonecontrol alot, and get a mellow jazz sound on it.

I m from SIngapore and I am happy to see Ovation coming back to life! Any guitar players should have an Ovation as part of his/her guitar collections! I have one, and I look to have another in black top.

This is the 'hospital' where the greatest of all guitars were born-- mine included-- so thank you, Charlie, for doing what you did. In the year of this 50th anniversary and forever, we are indebted to your memory and to your founding fatherhood of our beloved Ovation guitars!

I've had/played my ovation matrix for the past 40 years. Still in fantastic condition and plays really well. Even though I'd run into a burning building to save it, I probably wouldn't chose to buy another. A really decent guitar, and I have absolutely no regrets purchasing it.

I rescued an Ovation Celebrity CK057 recently and had to reglue the bridge, and was greatly disappointed to see that the bridge was not glued directly to the sound board wood itself, but to the top of the finish :( I have since fixed this, and still surprised it left the factory like that.

Due to my financial stupidity I had to sell my 1995 collector's series couple of years ago. Love and performed with that guitar from day 1 with no problems. Have a SX Main Stage Mahogany Burst now and am loving every minute of it. Also have a 2778AX it was good but wanted an American made Ovation. Thanks to Drum Workshop for rescuing Ovation from Fender. Can someone do the same for Guild? 😊

The best sounding guitar I have ever heard was an Adamas without pickups. Tremendous sound and projection. Unfortunately that guitar literally vibrated itself to death in about three months. That was back in the mid 1980's. I am glad to see Ovation back in Connecticut.

Hi, I'm interested in knowing what happened to your Adamas? I own one, and want to keep it, if I can prevent any damages on it, that would be great. Thanks by advance.

@@richardfoltier1 The top developed buzzes from delamination. It may have been a fluke. It was a demo guitar back in the early 80’s and was replaced by Ovation.

@@Yoda8945 All right so no worries then, it was a manufacturing defect, it happens... Mine is 5 years old and in mint condition. Sings like a bird and no defect. Thanks👍

guitar center, samash, sweetwater all have them. You can find a used model from 10+ years ago for around 100-200 usd nowadays. Really underrated guitars even if it was made in korea etc.

@william121852 . . . I've owned my Custom Legend since 1990 . . . . Except for some finish cracks it is perfect. Perhaps it is how you stored it and the humidity conditions that caused yours to split and crack. That should not happen to any guitar if properly maintained.

Didn't they end up shutting it down again and opening up shop overseas? Lol.
