He live a good life, even traveling to Indonesia, got a citizenship and embark on Operation Trikora, his last combat. My great grandfather fought in world war 2 and he was always proud to be in the us marines he inlisted on January 4th 1942 he was 18 years old he went to Parris inland and new rive during boot camp at Guadalcanal he was apart of the original landing party he fought in all the battles at Guadalcanal and was one of the first eight to set foot on Henderson field his right hand was injured and was cared for immediately he earned a Purple Heart and was called "Guadalcanal hero" at Iwo Jima he was there when they raised the flag he survived the war he died in 1988 I have respect for him and other WW2 veterans.

My great grandfather fought with the Soviets to end the Germans attack. He was charging a bridge in Leningrad when German artillery came across his squad. He was blown off the bridge and fell into the river where he died. I can still go to that bridge where he died in Leningrad (st Petersburg now) and the city that he had fought for wasn’t in vain. WW2 truly was an almost superhero type war, the Nazis (I know most Germans in the army weren’t evil) but being commanded to take over the world… If the Germans had won, who knows what would have happened.

My Grandpa was a Vietnam veteran, he said he regrets fighting for today’s generation, he said he wants to see them go out and fight and see how long they last. That was a week before he passed. Rest in peace Roger Westberry.
My great grandfather fought with the Soviets to end the Germans attack.
He was charging a bridge in Leningrad when German artillery came across his squad.
He was blown off the bridge and fell into the river where he died.
I can still go to that bridge where he died in Leningrad (st Petersburg now) and the city that he had fought for wasn’t in vain.
WW2 truly was an almost superhero type war, the Nazis (I know most Germans in the army weren’t evil) but being commanded to take over the world…

My Great Grandad was in the British Merchant Navy, he survived bombs, torpedos, mines all of that stuff and came back alive😢 he gone now though and I never got to see him😢

Grandpa was a Machinist's mate in the Korean war onboard the USS Los Angeles. He's still alive and living in Texas.

I'm a 43 year old European woman. From the early '90s I said all the time that my generation is the worst. I still believe it. My generation and the kids that my generation produced.These two are the worst. I'm ashamed too because both my grandfathers fought in 1940 against Hitler and Mousolini.
