I loved Keke in Akeelah, but it wasn't until I heard her sing for this movie that I became hooked! I've continued to watch her grow (though she's a year older than me lol). She has real talent and I'm happy her music is finally getting somewhere.
So, I saw that the actress I really liked from Scream the TV series is in the new Jordan Peele movie from the trailer. I went to IMDB to look at what else she was in. I saw her name was Keke Palmer. My brain said hey you know that name. One of your gym playlists from the mid 2000s had a song by her on it. I said nah that name must be coincidental. Now I gotta go look through her discography and find the title of the song I recognize. This is it. I come here, I concur it is indeed the same girl I just didn't make the connection in all the times I've watched Scream. I sit here and gladly bop along this entire song thinking about that nostalgic time and my favorite gym that no longer exists, and I think man I really need to put this on my current workout playlist. I notice all the comments on this video are hella old. Like 6-15 years old. Until yours. And on reading your comment my bopping instantly turned into self pity at the fact that you were 6 years old when this song came out. Where's the nearest bridge...
2003-2011 was Disney's Golden Age. From the very first episode of That's So Raven to the last episode of TSL on Deck. I still remember the first time That's So Raven aired. I was on my bed watching the music video. This song and Keep It Movin were my songs! I remember downloading them on Limewire onto my ipod lmao I had lots of disney songs on my ipod.
Keke Palmer is so talented, she has done wonderful things with her career and its wonderful to see! I was 9 when this movie came out and I loved it, SO 2007.
***** thats what im talking about, they also talk about the hispanic culture on commercials and kc undercover talked about black history in an episode and everything
I swear, this song has actually helped me over the years when i was a kid. I use to always get bullied & treated like I'm worthless. But when I listened to this song, it made me strong & i kept listening to it when i was younger. Here i am now at 2018 listening to the one song that helped my life.. Thank you, Keke ❤💗
James Bryson +Mia Dowd I'm from the UK and in our educational system when a child is 10-11 years old they are known as year 6s. It's the last year of primary school before we go off to high school which we attend ages 11-16. BTW what grade would 10-11 year olds be in the US?
2020 anyone? I miss when Disney Channel was actually good. I was like five or six when this movie premiered on Disney and now I’m 18 and graduated high school. Time moves by fast
Ilove the twist she is putting on music for young the younger generation. Her music is clean, and fun.I love watching this child singing or acting.Much Love!
Dang i was 14 or 15 when this came out Dx 😭 and now i'm 24 i'm old but man i love this movie and songs my god i had forgotten about this over the years i remember i used to watch it a Lot xD (i still have it on dvd) but life has gotten me so cought up i forgot and now after whatching it on Netflix the other day man that brought memories and tears to my eyes 😭😭❤❤
Jump In was such an important film for me and my siblings. I respect High School Musical for its charm and cultural relevance, but it didn't represent our experience. 7 brown kids all living in different households because we all had different moms, going to under funded public schools, our parents pushing us so hard to excel because we weren't going to be handed any opportunities. It was nice to see characters going through similar things on TV. HSM felt like a very heightened reality to us that we couldn't comprehend. Jump In felt much closer to home.
I feel the same way! Jump In is my favorite dcom ever because of the representation. It was amazing to see people that looked like me and that I could relate to. This movie always touched my heart as a kid. I feel like it doesn’t get talked about enough.
This is probably my favorite song from Keke Palmer! I remember watching her music video on the Disney Channel when the movie she did with Corbin came out! I wasn’t popular in junior high, but It’s My Turn Now was one of those songs that I would listen to for motivation!
I remember this one but the one good thing about Her music not being more popular is that I keep finding more gems from the past I haven’t heard before
eric nolan omg, really? :o will there be school at home? and and ufos instead of cars? and those ''ufos'' will fly? :o and we will have phones in ourselves? :D
She was a great singer and actor. I love all of her movies and songs. I sure do miss her since she don't work for the owner of Disney Channel any more, and made her own decision what she want to do after she had finished high school, and turned eighteen years of age to make her own decision, and not let her parents run her life anymore.
Kids today are fr missing this type of music. It was so uplifting and encouraging.
I still come back to songs like this because they empower you.
Lucky they use RUclips
Frfr they really missing out og Disney was so fire growing up
How the fuck did I get sucked into a old Disney song marathon?
AND WHY CAN'T I STOP CLICKING MORE SONGS!?

I loved Keke in Akeelah, but it wasn't until I heard her sing for this movie that I became hooked! I've continued to watch her grow (though she's a year older than me lol). She has real talent and I'm happy her music is finally getting somewhere.

maddylynski that’s true 2007 was the best for Disney
I would consider the peak to be from 2005-2008 for sure.
I think disney channels peak was in 2001-2008. In my opinion
ilovelegos2000 definitely their peak!
Yup and it’s peak ended 2010
Keke Palmer is so talented, she has done wonderful things with her career and its wonderful to see! I was 9 when this movie came out and I loved it, SO 2007.
Remember when Disney actually wasn't afraid of diversity and embraced black culture on their channel? Yeah....Pepperidge Farm remembers.
The last time there was anything like this was in 2012 with Let It Shine.
Ikr now it's so different sad 😳💔 I Miss it
right now they're actually starting to bring diversity back
What about kc undercover tho does that count?
***** thats what im talking about, they also talk about the hispanic culture on commercials and kc undercover talked about black history in an episode and everything

This movie is 10 years old. Your math is off. Lol
+Mia Dowd who me?
+ Mila Dowd she doesn't mean she was 6 years old. She means that she was in "year 6" which some may also know as grade 6. The math makes sense
James Bryson +Mia Dowd I'm from the UK and in our educational system when a child is 10-11 years old they are known as year 6s. It's the last year of primary school before we go off to high school which we attend ages 11-16.
