I think the CVT transmission is what’s causing the lag since it is not made for instant acceleration but more relaxed style of driving. A DCT transmission or even a manual transmission would provide a better idea about the capabilities of the car.

When I started watching this video I was hoping you guys don’t sing the MG song since they gave you this car for review. Glad it was the most honest review and you touched upon most points very accurately.
I would like you to elaborate more on steering feedback, suspension, chassis, and engine in the future videos. Kudos on the first one 🎉

I didn’t like the steering position, it remains quite up even when fully tilted
Suspension set up is on hard side
I don’t like the laptop size screen, it’s going to be a safety issue, full distraction inside the car
Front plastic grill also I don’t like
You didn’t spoke about Panaromic sunroof, does it’s size affect AC cooling
I am also completely off with it’s such a low mileage, MG hasn’t worked at all in this dept since it’s launch in India even after so much customer feedback, I agree car is heavy and well built but it needs to give a decent mileage, strong hybrid etc kuch toh karna chahiye

Mr Brotomotive, you mentioned that the new Hector requires some cumbersome touch interactions for adjusting AC and the climate controls which of course is a driving distraction; but what you totally forgot to mention in your review that the car is equipped with a very efficient and effective voice command system that does all the job for you without having to keep your eyes off the road while driving. I've been using this "Hello MG" feature since March 2023 and it works with truly amazing consistency no matter whether you're cruising across the Himalayan Highlands or through the rural hinterlands. Maybe, you need some more time with the vehicle to understand it better and to improve on your observations that may affect it's potential buyers negatively. Regards.
Mg will never give you people another chance to review their vehicle as mostly negative things have been mentioned dominantly, which is drastic from advertisement point of view. But on the other hand you people have done a justified review.

I was owning MG HECTOR 2020 Sharp varient Diesel manual. The vehicle had been so amazing that now I am purchasing 2024 automatic CVT petrol from MG. After 4years of experience with the car I am in love with the brand. You need to own it to enjoy it😊

accelerator pedal upride hi hota hai most cars me. Jaise mahindra and maruti cars. I feel ankle pe hill ho to better set ho payega ye issue
I have a Creta and somehow I found the front seats to be lacking in under thigh support compared to the Creta. Also the seat width seemed to be narrower. Same was the case for the back seat in terms of under thigh support. The car is spacious, but the seats dont appear to be larger than CSUVs like Creta.
Raghav is right - the new dashboard feels weird with that huge screen. It's almost as if it is stuck on top of the dashboard

please review using your expertise. beside regular review, you can compare paint thickness, metal sheet quality, NVH level using device etc.
(Earlier it was GM plant tavera was manufacturing here now MG own this plant) It manufacturing plant is just 1 hrs from vadodara it's manufacturing in Halol near vadodara Gujarat.

Reasons for the low throttle response could be the combination of Size and Weight, underpowered 1.5 L Petrol(Although a Turbo engine Petrol engines are not very torquey in general), CVT Gearbox (CVT's are not the best type of transmissions in terms of performance, DCT would have done much better) MG had to take a call in terms of price to performance.
One suggestion is that please measure the paint thickness of a car...
