The Fonz had heart and empathy, and behaved with sincerity. Those qualities will always attract children, and adults who haven't lost all their innocence and compassion. We desperately need those qualities in our country now.

And massively sexist, objectified women and promoted narcissistic, consumer capitalism and the abuse of animals as well as American supremacy.
Thank goodness it is the past, it created the worst generation!

This is wonderful! All for bringing back Happy Days! It's a time of actual happy thoughts. Life is so full of crime shows, CSI, Law and order, which are not bad shows. But there is just not enough of life's good memories. Just potential scary ones. News is worry some. Though we all try to stay informed; it's no wonder that young people are depressed, angry, suicidal, and confused. Our environment is causing havoc in nature. Guns and shooting everywhere. Let's have a little more memories and heart in our lives. Talk about the newspaper together. Let's make changes. Thank you both for your Happy Day personal thoughts. Love it!!

I never understood the proliferation of "crime" TV. While the genre has been a part since the earliest days of television it seems to be the only scripted type programing on these days and the reason that I have not owned a TV since around 2001. A rebroadcast of Happy Days might be a good thing but since it was created in the 4:3 aspect ratio, a major network might not want to watch it. Yes it would be high definition since the show was recored on film rather than videotape. Maybe they can stretch out the aspect ratio and cut off people's heads in the process in a conversion to 16:9. Frankly, I have better things to do than watch.

There are definitely WAY TOO MANY CRIME SHOWS. Or "forensic pathologist" shows. And they all are "formula" and unoriginal. They ARE BAD and there are far too many of them.

Everyone loves The Fonz, he made things cool or uncool. If recollection serves correctly the show which was set back in the 50's had a racial episode. And The Fonz, stood on the right side of history. If that show were run today I think it could resonate with most people. Because not much has changed since then.

Classic television is what would be review bombed today - all of the messages were there that people now protest against.
We need to return to the morality tales of yesteryear.
Classic Westerns did it too: Wagon Train and Gunsmoke and others.

I'm biased, but the 60s to the 80s had the best music and TV shows. Sure, there is an outlier here and there, but pound for pound, you can't beat that time period.

Back in the day, I once saw a large group of developmentally impaired young people in a public space, and all of them were imitating the Fonz with great joy ("Aaaaaaaaayyyyy!" "Whooooooahhhh!"). Clearly there was something about the character that they absolutely loved. I wonder if Henry is aware that this is one of Fonzie's many fan bases.

We have an ADHD epidemic from the smartphones. I'm 58, grew up with Happy Days, watched it religiously. And even I suffer from needing to pause a streamer after 45 minutes. It's a problem and I consider myself to have a great ability to concentrate. We're all suffering from a combination of information overload and the little dopamine hits that we get from social media. It's an addiction. One tip: change your phone's display to greyscale instead of color. It helps.

Happy Days was my favorite show as a kid and every friend I had wanted to be the Fonz! I think what I liked about it most was that it gave me a peek into what my Dad’s life might have been like when he was a teenager in the 50’s.

  • @Skeloric
    @Skeloric Год назад +2

The Fonz was cool because he simply knew he was cool.
He never had to say, "I am cool."
Fonz's "office" was the men's bathroom at the malt shop.
There was an era that understood the coolness of Fonzie - because it came from simply being cool.
So many people trying so hard to be something that they get further away from their goal.
We need Happy Days, we need all of those morality tales of the early Westerns and classic television.
We need to find our center and rediscover simply being cool.

I think America needs to put on more wholesome shows during prime Time and less violent content; Kids learn what they see, and hear🤔 They don't need to be exposed to criminal activity and gunplay that is what's offered, but it's a different time now😊

It's not just about the violence was in the video games; but the overall culture of violence and sex that permeates within American society, sex sells (commercials, unnecessary sex scenes, ect) and action (violence, and gun fights) excites🤷 Who wants romance without the sex pointer scenes🤭 helps with the flow of the movie😏
And let's not talk about the general sense of humor in America 😂

Happy Days for a lot of people were not happy days. Entertainment only. Look to the future and its needs, not nostalgia for the past. That's a Republican obsession, a fairy tale of a perfect society, hankering for that Garden of Eden. This was a Ronald Reagan tactic, to look at the old movies as a reflection somehow of real life, and not a reflection of some script writer's idea of safe films. Movie and TV scripts determining attitudes and policies in a real society requiring real solutions.
