    I can picture Saad each week saying to himself, "Okay, let's try this..." before picking up his phone and calling. Honestly, it's getting pretty tiring listening to him week after week. Saad, you're not ever going to prove Islam to be true. All evidence will continue to indicate it to be nothing more than man made nonsense, just like all the other religions that you reject. Time to either let it go or admit to yourself you believe in it for irrational reasons.

      It's frustrating, but indoctrination on a vulnerable, developing child's brain is profound and powerful and often life long lasting. We all know atheists who don't believe in supernatural anything, yet still struggle with fear of hell, and various similar subjects, thanks to that. So for someone who still believes, the grip of those ideas is going to be deeply ingrained and seeing and thinking their way out of it, particularly when surrounded by believers and further 'brainwashing' is extraordinarily difficult.

    I find it funny that the Qur'an is only scientifically "acurate" after we understand the mysteries through science. Then the Muslims go and find something in there to paint the target around the supposed hit.
    What would impress me was if the book actually taught something useful way before science found out. Like if it told us the speed of light. Or "wash thine hands because there are unseen small animals that cause disease".

    The "orbits" (loosely translated) of the sun and moon are mentioned in the verse in the context of the passage of night and day, which are actually caused by the rotation of the earth (important bit of information not mentioned in the Quran).
    Additionally, the critical astronomical fact of heliocentrism is the orbit of the earth (another important bit of information also not mentioned in the Quran), not that of the sun.
    And even if the sun did not orbit the galaxy, apologists would simply interpret the word as its arc traced across the celestial dome. The most plausible interpretation of the verse would be the geocentric model that held sway then, there and elsewhere. Continued invocation of this verse as scientific foreknowledge ought to be considered embarrassing.

    • @oremfrien
      @oremfrien 5 лет назад +5

      Agreed. Additionally, the words for "orbit" and "revolving" in Q: 21:33 are not the words that modern Arabs use for those words. The word used for "orbit" in the Qur'an is "falak" which refers to the celestial spheres as that term was understood with the firmament model of the universe. The word for "revolving" in the Qur'an is "yasbahuna" which literally means "swimming" and refers to the belief that in the firmament, space was actually a liquid that bodies had to swim through to get to their destinations. In modern Arabic, the word for "orbit" is "medaar" meaning "that which goes in a circle" and the word for "revolve" is "yeduro" coming from the same root (going in a circle).
      It's embarrassing, for Muslims who continually claim that the truth of the Qur'an is only manifest in Arabic to ignore Arabic lexicon when they argue for things that are demonstrably false and whose falsity is only more apparent in Arabic.

    A foetus looks like a mini human with hands and legs an embryo looks like a leech
    An embryo is converted into a foetus in like 8weeks Which is two months
    Women miscarriage is most common at zero to six weeks and they menstruate at about thirty to fourty days
    A miscarriage at below eight weeks looks exactly as a big clot and it is perfectly normal for women to miss a menstural cycle so basically they have the miscarriage without realising they were even pregnant and bear in mind there was no science that they would call a random clot as there miscarriage

      I am going to assume that you're pointing out how wrong the Quran can get things because that is so wrong it's kind of funny. I think the point to take away is, the Quran gets some things wrong some things right, the things it gets right is not miraculous information (and the information that is claimed to be us usually very vague and requires ad hoc enterpretation) and the stuff it gets wrong is usually pretty damn wrong. Basicly what you would get if you took a look in any ancient text written by mere human beings.

      You know what would have been impressive? If the book said man comes from the union of the sperm and a egg. The sperm comes from the testicles, fertilization happens inside the woman after it enters her egg. The man's seed determines if the baby will be a boy or girl. That would have been impressive. Not water from the backbone and ribcage.
