For me it's always been 3:52 - 4:20. That part just gets me every time!! The pattern on the hi-hat is so weird
I found watching Mike Portnoy go through it on the Liquid Drum Theater DVD set helped a lot. And then just a bit of time and hard work and you'll get there :)

Absolutely incredible! I still remember when i first got into Dream Theater around 2008, i saw your old videos of dance of eternity (and more) and i was completely impressed. Being a drummer myself i watched these videos many times to try to understand how to play it. And over 10 years later you are still kicking ass on this songs. Much respect!

It's the 4th time already? Damn... :D Over the time I get better and better. My technique improved with learning other stuff like Haken, the newer DT stuff, etc. So it's a kinda easy song for me to play right now. But nevertheless I need to practise it because I played it the last time I uploaded the last cover of it. :D But it's always a fun song to play. :)

it's the little things - i notice that all the covers (including mangini) start that 0:44 roll on the snare instead of your highest rack tom. you and portnoy are the only ones to do it right
