I feel The Shapeshifter has 1 of the saddest backstories: They discovered their power as a kid by accidentally turning into their teacher, they are constantly feeling hot or even pain if they can't make contact with whom they turned into, & they never found a way to turn back to their original form so they turned to crime to survive.

I thought shapeshifter would turn back to who he/she was after the skin removed by itself
Definitely a character I wanted to learn more about. But they are hot all the time because they are wearing a second layer of skin.
