Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Immortal Pleasures, it sounds awful, I read some comments and the smut scenes sound like something from the bottom of Kindle unlimited lists of unhinged erotic novellas. Still nothing against that, people love crazy stuff like that, but I would never expect it from an author like V. Castro - Goddess of filth was a very good novella. I think you’re absolutely right about the wood varnish. 😂😂 In Republic of Ireland they use euro, but in Northern Ireland the curency is pounds, since they are part of the UK. Maybe the events in the book are happening in Northern Ireland, IDK this book still sounds hilariously bad. 😂

I was so disappointed by Death Valley. I thought some quotes about grief were really beautiful, but I was sad it wasn't weird enough. The last 15% got interesting, but aside from that it fell kind of flat for me.
What Lies in the Woods was pretty bad. It seems like every thriller I pick up these days features a female MC who is set-up to be a smart badass, and who proceeds to make one stupid decision after another. And that's why I haven't picked up a contemporary thriller for some time! I recently picked up Cuckoo. We'll see. Immortal Pleasures sounds absolutely awful 😂.

I DNFd What Lies in the Woods. I clocked it from the beginning as being based on the Slenderman case, and I hated the writing so I looked up spoilers and the ending is the same as the real case. Usually the author will at least throw in a twist or choose a different category of killer but this author just copied real events. So weird!

You should def go to the expo! I would recommend doing some thinking/planning prior because it's very overwhelming lol
