Separation at the hinge is necessary so you can pry the Bezel and the LCD away from the Adhesive.
Fast Forward to 11:40 if you are able to remove the Bezel without separating from the hinge

I have an identical issue with my laptop after a year and a half and I used it normally with no falls etc...would love to know how to fix it
