Dune Part 2 Movie Review @ ruclips.net/video/IdVqsJneyAs/видео.htmlsi=43wx6rhO994gYfmg
I know people are going to say that I'm you know call him old and all that but the point is I don't play it that I never played the game that much so I don't really care but if it was a franchise that I cared about and then they made a movie and they miscast them like this I'd be mad just like everybody's mad right now
The cast is amazing. The hardcore fans of borderlands aren't liking this at all. But im looking forward to seeing this movie. Looks a fun good time. I'm definitely getting guardians of the galaxy vibes from it and to me that's not a bad thing. Jack black is always amazing. I hope it does well.
"Its cute you think you're all the heroes of this little adventure but you're not" "welcome to Pandora kiddo's"
it doesn't have handsome jack in it
The best way I can describe this movie is that we are in the alternate universe that got the weird alternate casting decisions.
So Tiny Tina is not actually Tiny Tina and Roland is not really Roland? They should have just introduced new characters in the Borderlands universe to give this a fighting chance.
feels like roth doing his best gunn impression : P
Borderlands: The Golden Girls of Pandora.
Horrible casting choices all around. I love Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Gina Gershon but they're all 20-30 years too old to be playing these roles. Someone like Karen Gillan (Jumanji; Nebula from Endgame) would have made for an amazing Lilith. Roland is supposed to be a tall, serious, Idris Elba type while Kevin Hart is the exact opposite. Love Jack Black, but why can't we have the original voice actor for Claptrap? Ariana Greenblat is also a good actress, but she's got too much of the cutesy teen vibe - nothing like the quirky insane Tiny Tina. This might end up being a fun movie, but it isn't Borderlands.
Kate and Jamie are about 20 years to old for these roles
Never to old to be a vault hunter
They're not. It's was confirmed a long time ago that the film adaption will be it's own thing and won't be canon to the video game lore. Some characters are not going to be in this one. And the ones that will, aren't going to be exact copies of their video game versions.
@@sakuraitonen5886 easily tell by the team we see too. Plus I feel an original story works to the favor of the movie
@@sakuraitonen5886 And this is how you know it's very likely going to be a shit story with action and forced humor. It doesn't seem to have anything that makes Borderlands what it is outside of the setting and character names. If they wanted to make an original borderlands movie they should have just done it as a prequel or something, then teased into the first/second with Handsome Jack as the villain. This is why most video game movies are terrible: they have source material, then change and butcher things and end up making it worse. I bet this is going to be loads of shoehorned fan service with mediocre jokes and humor and lots of explosions to try to hide the fact that the movie will be bad. I don't hope this movie flops, but I have no faith when studios start changing what makes the game fun and cool. They brought on big names and will water it down for mass consumption and the product will suffer for it. That's just how it is.
@@sakuraitonen5886 That's what they've done with every movie based on a video game since Super mario bros, and with a few exceptions they've all bombed. Even less can be considered "good".
This movie screams "Just make anything before we lose the rights".
Love the reaction! It’s crazy seeing Ariana Greenblatt blowing up rn too with seeing Jenna Ortega also blowing up because they both got their start in the same Disney Channel show as siblings lmao
I’m looking forward to all the Geritol product placement that is certain to be sprinkled throughout the film.
Hoping it opens with 'Ain't No Rest for the Wicked.' Cast...eh, mixed reactions, but will reserve final judgement for when I see more. Production-wise, it looks great!
1) How is Tiny Tina as tall if not taller than Roland? 2) Kevin Hart is a terrible choice for no-personality Roland 3) Why Jack Black for Claptrap?! What was wrong with its original VA? 4) Why is Lilith so old?!?!
Tina acting like Ava... Oh no!
Any movie where they feel the need to tell you what other movies the producers were involved in, just screams “this film can’t stand on its own merits”.
Borderlands is one of my favorite all time franchise, that being said Kevin Hart is nothing like Roland and it drives me crazy. I mean visually it looks right aside of the cast flaws. They wont bring Jack in this and if they do if he will be a watered down insult too the version of him in 2. Nothing new Borderlands will ever be at the dialog value of 2 since they got way more PG.
I'll watch it
I hate it, I don't want to play borderlands any more
Wait a minute we've haven't played Fallout, one of the most popular game series in the world, but we've played Borderlands? Interesting.
Very different games.
Borderlands was the game that got me away from sports games. :)
Looks very crazy and lots of fun
This is going to be a long post.
I’ve noticed a lot of people are looking at this through the lenses of the game. As someone who has clocked in hundreds of hours into this game, yes I barely even have a life, I’m keeping the game and the movie separate. The movie is confirmed to not be part of the game canon. It’s going to be its own stand alone story based in the same universe with familiar characters. With that in mind, we have to take into account that there is no way possible, without cutting a lot of content, that they could take a story, like borderlands 2 for instance, which is easily 40-60 hours worth of story and cram it into a good 1 1/2-2 hour movie. Another thing to look at is that this movie is not going to win any Oscar’s, unless it’s god a dope soundtrack and/or great visual effects. It’s geared to be a summer blockbuster in the sense that this is going to be a turn your brain off and watch the pretty explosions. It’s going to have a very basic story, that going to be easy to follow, especially for those who have no idea what the borderlands series is about. As for casting, the main one in particular, while Kevin Hart would have been my first choice, I feel like he might give Roland some personality cause if we are going to be honest about Roland in the games, his personality has literally been soldier and that’s it. Now the graphic novels did flesh him out more by diving into his time as an atlas soldier, and even learning about him and his team and how atlas pretty much left him and his team for dead. But there wasn’t much to game Roland at all, so I think this will be a good change of pace if we remember to keep both the movie and the game separate from one another. Also, say this movie does make the money it needs to even think about doing a sequel, look what the sonic fandom did, we can get the company to listen to our feedback. Just saying.
I love this trailer and going to see the movie. The cast is awesome ❤
I’m sure that all your friends at the senior center will think so too.
@@Dark_Kommissar Yup they’ll enjoy it as well 😅
Have a Geritol for me and I hope that the movie doesn’t cause anybody to soil their Depends.
@@Dark_KommissarBro 😂
This looks awesome‼️🎮 It’s going to be a fantastic video game adaptation film!!
This isn't Borderlands, this is a spin off Guardians of the Galaxy wannabe.
Looks like a dumpster fire and it's miscast.
I think Jack Black playing Claptrap is cool, he really got into video game movies lately
I am a Borderlands fan the games are awesome
That looks AWESOME!
Better than I was expecting from a Borderlands film but no where near sold. Could be proven wrong though.
Kevin hart killed any chance of me seeing this movie. Nope.
Love the trailer but im not shore about the Movie ! It gives me Thor love and thunder vibes !
More like Not So Tiny Tina!
I'm mixed, there's stuff I like like Curtis as Tanis and the humor still being there. But there's stuff I don't like like Claptrap and Tina being toned way down.
Lilith looks like she's 50 too.
I would rather just wait to see the movie instead of just thinking it’s gonna be bad. Casting may not be perfect but at the same time…I don’t see anyone else even making an attempt to make a borderlands film.
Claptrap has changed voice actors multiple times in the games so jack black doesn't really bother me
Looks like a fun film for newbies but a hard sell to fans. I do think the casting is odd but not awful, just weird.
I think it’s a safer move for them because video game fans much like anime are a tough audience to please. So better to pitch it to the general audience and hope fans of the game will check it out too. And will bring new fans to the game as well.
@@EchanteDante I don't know about that. The general audience idea I buy 100%; this is watered down and palatable so they can get it to the masses. But I feel like the fans will hate it and people who know nothing about it will be confused. This is a fairly specific IP to try to do this with, and I would find it hard to believe this would make people want to play the game(s) unless there is a new one coming around the same time as the movie. Even then, it's a FPS with cell shaded graphics and humor that will be nothing like the movie. And characters and other plot points completely unrelated, not to mention....characters who are, shall we say, just not around anymore? If you said The Last of Us made people want to play the game, I would believe that. It's a grounded story that's well done. Borderlands is silly, and that's coming from someone who loves it. I like that it's silly and makes dick jokes. I don't think this is a win move for anyone in the end.
It looks very good, it has all the essence of the video game and you really don't have to take it as a direct adaptation, you can take its liberties and still be like borderlands the video game since it has many spin offs.
It isn’t a direct adaptation to the games idk why people get so upset of course the characters weren’t going to have a 100% likeness to the cast its its own standalone from the games it doesn’t look anything groundbreaking but i’ll see it regardless aslong as it has the same borderlands goofyness i’m all in
@@brandonhession8550 same
@brandonhession8550 it's because, in spite what a lot of people say, people usually do want to see as close to a direct adaptation as possible. Some people like to act shocked that people want that...but seeing something done in live action is the enjoyable part. There doesn't need to be a whole brand new story or world created just with the name of existing IP.
@@FullMetalBthey could’ve casted someone shorter than kevin hart as roland and I wouldn’t have cared lol as far as i see it the movie is in its own alternate reality from the actual game itself
@@FullMetalBstill looks like the same borderlands to me if people can’t get over the cast thats their issue 🤷
Where are the elemental weapons at. I hope that its just not regular lead. The cast is great, but not right for this franchise.
I have zero faith in this. Every single one of the casting choices is just wrong to me.
It's everything I wanted from a Borderlands movie
The casting looks so bad and this looks like a fan film.
It looks bad but fun, which is honestly kind of on brand for the franchise so I’m tentatively down
Same as long as ot has the same borderlands goofyness to it i could really care less who the cast is lol
*it
People forget the games are also bad but fun.. all the characters in the game are just off the wall crazy.
I don't see why the way Tiny Tina talks is "problematic".
People need to lighten up.
While the cast is not 100% accurate, I feel people have become too nitpicky lately.
This looks good!!
Compared to the game adaptations we got before, this one is damn spot on!!.
See, there’s 3 different ways of adapting a VideoGame in my opinion:
You can go the Resident Evil way…. JUST THE NAMES STAY THE SAME
The Halo show/Uncharted/Silent Hill (And this one) where they clearly build this from another point of view (or another reality/canon), with a different narrative and different-looking characters, but the visuals, the story, the vibe, music, lore, Easter eggs, they do feel accurate to the games, and are written in a way where they slowly build upon what the games did.
And finally, The Last of Us…. So damn accurate that even the things they changed are either references to how they were in the game, or just improve upon the original narrative.
In my opinion, I love the last one, but the second option is damn good too.
And people need to understand we’ve come a long way from movies like the live action super Mario bros movie and just accept that these new adaptations are not bad, even when different…
I personally am looking forward to seeing this movie, and I loved your reactions ^~^ ❤
It's not spot on at all. You only think it is because it's a curated trailer pulling specific things they want you to see. Saying this is spot on is like saying Eragon(the movie)was spot on simply because it had a dragon in it. This feels like it's going to be a convoluted mess with fan service galore and a terrible story. The action looks cool, but just because it has guns it doesn't mean it will be good. The cast is also way beyond "not 100% accurate". I get they are or want to do an original story, but they had a million other ways they could have gone. They could have started with a prequel and set up whatever they wanted with different characters, maybe a cameo or two, and gone from there. They chose to do an "original" story with existing characters, swapping ages and timelines as they pleased. This just looks like a mess.
@@georgen5882 you literally just proved everything my original comment said….
Nowadays humans are too soft and moany complain about every single thing hell no wonder some of them don't find success in life. Back in the day people moaned less and succeeded more in life. Look at how high unemployment is now compared to the past. I don't mind the trailer looks fire I will only complain after I see the movie.
it was shit not fan of the vidoe game sorry cuz i am not into art work games
They nailed it visually, but the cast just isn't doing it for me. Nothing against them. They're all great actors, but I just don't know if this was the right movie for them.
100% agreed. Looks awesome. Cast is suspect.
for me Tiny Tina and Krieg looks Amazing so does Lilith but cate’s a bit old they should’ve casted lowkey bryce d howard or emma stone if they’re going for a younger lilith
@@purplehax1091Well they obviously aren't going for a younger Lilith, are they?
I think Ariana as Tina and Jack Black as Claptrap are the only ones I'm like super sold on although I'm convinced Jack Black would've killed as Marcus.
Fr too old for this is the right words 😂❤
grandma lilith l, great grandma tannis. tiny roland, and tiny tina turned from badass child to an annoying teenager
Tiny Tina was never badass. She's just an over energetic character who thinks loud = funny.
She was always a teenager.
@@WaveGazer She was definitely a badass, especially with explosives. She was also psychotic, and this adaptation seems to be nothing like her in the game. They made this way too much like Guardians of the Galaxy and not enough like what the source material is. I just don't see a large enough audience for this without the borderlands fans behind it. It's not like The Last of Us on HBO...this is a popular series, but it's also not everyone's cup of tea. I think fans of the games will hate this and the rest of the audience won't know what the hell is going on.
@@georgen5882 She was never a badass. If she was such a badass she would've been a vault hunter. She's just comedic relief who isn't funny.
Moxxi's actress is 64 too.
Its like the movie was made for people who havent played or heard about borderlands
Thank you!
Rob, your beard looks so sexy! :) I love you guys reaction! 😃
CATCH A RIDE!!!
This looks straight up awful.
The Karl Pilkington T 😂🔥. I swear I could make any reference and you guys would understand.
This looks to be cast almost laughably poorly. What a disappointment.
Tiny Tina seems depressed..seems really calm..she should be way crazy. Jack Black steals it.
They had kevin hart because i assume Idris refused to do it he would have been an amazing Roland
Idris for sure would have been a great Roland.
@LatetotheParty I'm hoping Kevin and Jack get Dwayne to do a cameo as Mr Torgue
Claptrap literally sounds like Jack Black and it irks me. Not looking forward to this movie at all
This screams Soo bad it's good material
How can they cast Kevin hart when Terry crews exists? 🤔.
Lovin the Karl Pilkington shirt.
I have a lot of concerns as if feels like it's copying James Gunn's stuff too closely, but without the darker edge which is surprising coming from Eli Roth. I played Borderlands 1, 2 and the Pre-Sequel, and the first is still my favorite. I played as Lilith in the first game, Gaige in the second and Nisha in the prequel.
Should've rolled the window up.
I hope this doesn't taint the games or lead to their cancelations. Because this movie is gonna bomb hard.
People who've been playing Borderlands games won't like this. It's a movie for people who don't play video games. Like watching a movie after reading the book first, most don't like the movie. Same here if you've played any Borderlands games. It'll be nice if I'm wrong.
@@abaneyone I don't think you will be wrong on this one. It just doesn't look good. I get why they do this to a certain degree, but changing the material generally does not end well. Especially for games to movies. They have a horrible track record, and this seems like it will continue the trend of them being bad. I honestly think if they kept it more similar to the games the humor might appeal to more people than they think. But, it will likely bomb and they will have no idea what went wrong because they are all such brilliant filmmakers.
@abaneyone so basically they're marketing to everyone but their base.
The cast is one of the main problems because most of them don’t embody the characters. Besides the voice, claptrap seems fine, and Kreig seems fine so far, but that’s about it. I hope I’m wrong in the end but it’ll probably bomb.
Jack black is a huge miscast as claptrap
Jumanji in the desert 🏜️
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤
I was told on one of my comments on a previous reaction that the original VA wasn't getting paid for his role at all and was rejected when he asked for pay. So he just quit. I've been told he's not even voicing the character in the games anymore.
yeah he didnt voice claptrap on BL3 which would have fooled me cause it still sounded like claptrap
Kevin Hart and Jack Black gets to be in another video game film after Jumanji
Producers probably think he is the good luck totum to stop video game movie adaptations from sucking like they did for so long
Was Jumanji a video game?
@@drewlovelyhell4892 it was in the sequel lol
AVI ARAD ruined everything again
Just like he ruined TASM movies, MORBIUS and UNCHARTED
Things went so bad that Craig Mazin (from CHERNOBYL and THE LAST OF US) asked for his name to be removed from the credits
Uncharted was a decent enough movie
Why do they keep letting him make movie's?
Im really worried for the MGS movie (If that ever happens) since hes one the producer.
Avi Arad is the producer mentioned in the trailer?? That's all I need to hear to know this movie won't be for me.
the cast feels off. like people cosplaying as the characters. kevin hart is himself. they got big names to sell the movie. stop with the guardians of the galaxy vibe everytime we do a nerd movie with an ensemble cast.
I think the only "off" casting for me personally is Cate Blanchet (surprisingly). I think Jamie Lee Curtis is SPOT ON for Dr. Tannis. I'm not sold on Tiny Tina but it's because she's my favorite character and I think Ashly Burch is 80% of the character, she's brilliant on the role, so I might be a little biased in regard to her character. But it looks like EXACTLY what Borderlands is supposed to be: pure and dumb fun, and that's hopefully what we'll get
🖕💀💬 When it comes to "adaptations" 1 way or the other Dummywood always Föcks the cast up. If this is based on the 1st game where's Brick and Mordecai?! Kevin Hart as Roland? Really? Given his bite size he could've easily played Mordecai, and they could've cast Terry Crews as Roland.
hope you like it, but it is a hard no for me. it feels more like they just wanted to have a reason to hang around these people and made a movie so they can. the casting in this movie is way to far away for me!!!!!! it says it is a R rated movie, but it feels like a soft R not a Borderlands R!!!!
As a borderlands fan I hate this movie already!!
Just another directore totally ignoring the sorce!!!👎
Looks like trash I've played only one of the games and they have miscast totally that's my only issue I heard was the miscast of the three characters cuz they look nothing like the game resembling them at all you got all old ladies playing the part of the younger people
I have a pretty good grasp of most cinema but WTF is Borderlands!! Feel free to roast me, but this is the first I've ever heard of it and you are all tooking as if it is some kind of major lore. Somebody please!
As someone who knows SFA about the Borderlands game, this seems like a potentially fun, GotG lite kinda film. Most video game films try to walk the line between staying true but also being accessible to other audiences
Honestly the casting doesn't bother me, I'm still excited to see what they do. As long as we get to see some crazy explosions, badass action scenes, and some funny one liners, I'll be happy
Thank you...well said
Thank you
i personally won't watch it cause i feel like it disrespects the original characters. not hating on anyone that does want to watch it since i'm not a clown
u realise that these bs movie exist because of people like u ? i guess u were happy with the first version of sonic too as long as the movie have explosion, action n comedy... smh
some of the worst castings for a movie
These pretzels suck
Tina does not work at all
3:35 Athena?
They had to get the heavy to do one or two songs for this.
Or go OG and get Cage The Elephant.
@@chrisd7047 well there ain't no rest for the wicked
It’s very cool that Jack Black is in many video game films: Jumanji, Mario, and now Borderlands and Minecraft next year
There was a Jumanji video game?
This looks more like an adult Guardians of the Galaxy.
I mean, tone wise, it isn't far off.
I really want Gaige and Deathtrap to turn up and i assume Handsom Jack will be teased for a sequel
I got about halfway through (maybe more?) the first Borderlands game and I liked it a lot. So much so I got 2 and 3 when they were on sale on Xbox Live and some DLCs and then found out, like Vanessa, I got REALLY sick while playing and couldn't get back to it. So, I don't know the characters well enough to be turned off of by how the characters are portrayed here. Wasn't even sure if the games actually continued a singular story or were all separate. I was okay with 1st person shooters early on, but about the time of Quake 3 in the early 2000s is when some of them started to make me nauseous, which sucks 'cause those were the types of games I loved the most. Well, that and RPGs. I remember playing Borderlands, I was taking ginger tablets, drinking ginger ale and had Sea Bands on my wrists. All of that helped me play longer, but still, after an hour or so, I'd HAVE to quit. Anyway, that said, this looks fun and I love Cate Blanchett.
Sorry to hear you experienced the same issue with motion sickness! Hopefully this movie is a good bit of fun so people like you and I can experience the story without the nausea. 💜 Vanessa
David Eddings, who was the original voice of Claptrap, isn't really on speaking terms with Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford. They had some kind of falling out, with Eddings claiming that Pitchford shoved him after Eddings inadvertently caught him in a lie. That is, presumably, what led to Claptrap being recast for BL3. It would have been great to get Eddings back to voice him for the movie, but it wasn't going to happen so long as Pitchford was involved.
Fr they couldn’t even get the non actor characters voice correct I’m still gonna watch it but man I’m scared ❤😂
You know what.... Gonna give it a shot.... Won't be the worst movie I have watched cough *madam web*
Whichever borderlands had the character that stacked damage but loss ammo I think she was the mecromancer but that was my fav borderlands
She lost accuracy and yes the mechro gaige
I'll say it. Kevin Hart is far from the worst thing about this trailer.
The only question I have with this, and we’ll most likely get the answer with time as we get close to the release. But my question: who is the villian? And if it’s STILL AND SHOULD BE Handome Jack, who is playing the role???
Why should it be handsome Jack?
The fanbase
Lot of casting hate but don't forget 'looking' like a character doesn't mean they'll be able to deliver to actually be that character. This is just gonna be a very fun and enjoyable watch 🔥
I assume Haley Bennett is going the be Moxxi
It's Gina Gershon.
@LatetotheParty I saw that on imdb but haley hasn't got amy1 listed next to her so I'm wondering who
@@FlamingoSandwich Well, since Krieg is in it I am guessing she will be Maya. Although if that's the case it's odd they wouldn't just say that. It's not like fans wouldn't figure that to be the case anyway.
I personally don’t really care if they change things. I think they made a movie that is more inviting to someone like me who knows nothing about Borderlands. Though I probably would have been on board a darker more truer to the game movie as well but not sure a wider general audience would be.
But what you said makes no sense. Of course you don't care if they change anything since you know nothing about it. You will have no idea what they change anyway, so it's a moot point. The larger issue is the changes don't look to be good. It looks like they deviated and tried to make this something everyone can enjoy. That's not what Borderlands is. You don't even know why Lilith can teleport, or why there was a phoenix in the sky toward the end. It might be ok for casual fans, but a lot of people are going to either be pissed off or have absolutely no idea what's going on.
Who has the Iconic Claptrap voice, David Eddings or Jim Foronda? I've heard this argument about Jack Black doing the voice because it's so iconic, but the fact is it's been done by multiple people and can be done by more and be well executed.
Even legacy voices can have missteps. Just listen to Matt Vogel's current iteration of Kermit the Frog. Just because you get the job to do the voice, doesn't mean you're the right pick. However, "the right pick" is purely subjective. We are looking forward to hearing what Jack can bring to the Clap.
@@LatetotheParty I also look forward to Jack Black's performance! He's a massive talent with over two decades worth of voice work under his belt.
Garbage
This looks really fun! I’m not a borderlands fan and I feel bad for those who are disappointed. But I feel like us gamers and anime fans are way too critical a lot of the time. So I think this was a smart move to make it a Guardians of The Galaxy D&D (the new movie) vibe type movie. Something a general audience can get behind and possibly bring new fans to the games. And hope that the fans of the games will get on board even though it may be a different vibe and not exactly what they would have pictured.
Plus I think with this tone and cast it will definitely bring in a bigger audience than if they made a movie specifically for the fans of the game. And could set up a franchise of films too.
Guardians of The Galaxy comic books were not like the movies in terms of the tone. Now the comics have gone more comedic but they used to be much stranger and more dramatic. Not that there wasn’t any comedy. And same can be said about the newer Jumanji movies they are not quite the same tone as the original but they still work and became quite popular l. So I think that if something is fun, entertaining, and good enough even if it is different from the source material it can still be successful.
Not worried about the casting. If Eli Roth ever played Borderlands and was as entertained as the rest of us, I think we’ll be ok.
Randy pitchford was involved every step of the way...we should be ok
It doesnt matter that Jack Black doesnt sound like video game counterpart and same goes for Arianna greenblatt.
It's called adaptation
It can also be called "poor casting". Just like Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. We won't know if it works for us though until we actually see the movie.
