OH Snap Andrew. I can't believe you are reviewing this ukulele the day after I purchased my own! I'm a beginner and It's good to know that you recommend this ukulele for a beginner. Now it's time for me to join your premium site. I like your teaching style Andrew, I look forward to learning from you.
Congrats Carlos, it's a nice uke!
I've listened to several demos of this uke and I think this is the best sounding uke for fingerpicking. Like a crystal bell ringing. I'd love to own one for playing renaissance or classical pieces.
I agree. It sounds fantastic for fingerpicking.
Got this in the concert size at a steal of a price- been really happy with it! It’s just fun to play. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for this review. I just purchased this Uke and I am stoked. Ready to learn how to play.
Congrats Ms Lynn, it's a nice uke! Check out this page for some ideas on where to start as a beginner player: rockclass101.com/learning-paths/.
This was my first tenor ukulele. Fun to play, clear and loud. I agree, this is beautiful for finger picking but when strumming... it’s not very “warm” but more treble heavy
I am very glad you mentioned the strumming sound. I pick and strum but I like the warmer sound of spruce or mahogany, even in laminates it seems to make a dif just as satin finish sounds different from gloss. Some peeps prefer that snappy sound when strumming I do not so I will prob go with one of their mahogany versions even though the pacific walnut is unique and pretty. Thanks.
Anyone with a Bowie's Cover in the the Backgroud deserves a double like....
I like the tone of that ukulele.
OK thanks, it seems so.
I'll get one end February.
I'm long to leave back my almost toy Aloha 20C and improve seriously on nice sounding ukulele.
With Eko suction cup microphone connected to DV Mark Little Jazz amplifier it could be great. I'll tell you soon. I think I'll choose Kala or Islander with the help of flipping a coin... 🙄 Bye, greetings from France. Frederic
Sweet!
Just bought one of these and I think is great, but may sound better with some Martin Flurocarbon strings. I find the C string at the 5th fret to be quite dead sounding.
I want the pacific walnut tenor Ukulele
Apart from the obvious differences would you say the same about the electric version of this ukulele?
Couldn't say, haven't played it. Ask Mike @ ukerepublic.com, he'd know for sure! Tell him I sent ya :)
What's the fingerpicking tune? Got a quick tutorial on that??
No tutorial unfortunately, I made it up on the spot :)
Have you tried the KA-TEM? I can't decide between these two. (Sorry my english sucks)
I seriously do hesitate between this one and acacia Islander tenor...
Either are great :)
Is it durable?or i will go to mahogany or acacia?
Reach out to Mike at: www.ukerepublic.com/contact-us.html
He'll be better able to answer that question. Tell him Rock Class 101 sent ya 😊
well i guess it's great for me ;) ( I know it won't help :)
That ukes is pretty much expensive here in the phils.
