From here in the States we thank you for the video. We have an original 1946 CJ-2A that I with my parents when they bought it and it is a daily driver all summer. It is completely stock with 6 Volts and original everything. We are very interested in a sun top and you have given us some good ideas! Best of luck!
Bows and brackets are very different on the CJ2A. To mount an MB/GPW top you'll need the proper bows and brackets along with properly locating the footman loops.
I think sitting it on form surface and weighting the stencil on the canvas helps reduce mess, check your horizontal level as my stencil I did on an angle!, but I’m sure the army stuff would be slapped on like the overspray when these things were sprayed up 😁👍 Cheers Bruce
Consider how many would have had less than precise and perfect stenciling when mass produced at breakneck pace and / or stenciled markings applied 'in the field' or at overseas depots.
This is a 1965 French Army Jeep known as a Hotchkiss M201, identical parts to WW2 Willys MB but better with 24 volts, stronger chassis and gear drive cam and strengthened rocker cover and better French Solex carb 😁👍 Cheers Bruce
Willys (pronounced Will - iss ). The closest thing to a Willys MB that is currently available that I know of are reproductions built by MDJuan in the Philippines. The closet thing to an early civilian Jeep in current production is Mahindra's Roxor which closely emulates an early CJ5 combined with CJ7 attributes. Those, however, are not road legal in most U.S. states. Mahindra was licensed by Willys Overland, Kaiser, AMC to build 'Jeeps' in India over previous decades where they presently sell their Thar models which closely resemble modern 'Wranglers'.
Good to see one in original shape! Thanks!
Glad you like it!
