Thank you Luis. Maybe it inspired you to do some sailing yourself?

I think that's a nice easy option. When the storms come in this can just pop home :-)

Need window wipers for our glasses. Bane of my life being short sighted

16 is NOT the listening channel for that part of the Humber. From memory it is 14 but you can check in Reeds. I found Humber VTS very good, even warning a vessel of where I was as they approached me. But I was transmitting on AIS,
Who ever put the Grim in Grimsby knew what they were doing.

When you were in the YC did you go in the snug & read the letter from the bloke that won a gold medal at the olympics, years ago.. He was told by his employer that he could not have anymore time off work, or he would get the sack. So he could not wait for the medal award ceremony. He had to come home. Could you imagine the uproar if an employer made a gold medal winner do that these days. Did you see the section of Crossbow on the wall? the first boat to reach 30kts.
As for the toilets. They may shine but they often STINK!!

In those situations I bet you were really glad to see that fun come up. Yeah that was a long old slog fair play to you both. What would we do without porridge oats !

Hi Martyn, yes. It's great when the fun comes up.. and the sun too :-)
It was just a silly too long journey tbh, but wow what an experience builder.

VTS Humber are a pain they believe they own the river and leisure boats have no business being there

They were rather abrupt that evening/morning. But the next day they were really nice, polite and helpful. You'll find out about that in the next episode :-)
