  • I love the Gospel of John, the way John begins his Gospel is awesome. I admire how John gets right to the truth of who Jesus Christ is, the Son of God, the Word (Logos) of God and Jesus is God.
    These scenes are from the series ‘The Chosen’ season 2, episode 1. It is such a beautiful series portraying Jesus and his followers (Disciples, Apostles). If you haven’t watched it yet, I would advise you to download the app today, and “Binge on Jesus,” all episodes are free.

    The Word Became Flesh - The Eternal Word ‘ Logos’
    1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) 16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.”
    John‬ ‭1:1-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬
    “Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself coul”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭21:25‬ ‭ESV‬‬
    The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬
    Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.
    ‭‭Galatians‬ 3:16‬ ‭ESV‬‬
    And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

    Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:31‬, Luke‬ ‭21:33‬ ‭& Matthew‬ ‭24:35‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    Folks, if you enjoyed this video (scene from ‘The CHOSEN’ S2-E1.), please check out The CHOSEN’s app from your app stores, where you can watch the entire two series for FREE. I promise you will not be disappointed. 👍

    The CHOSEN is the first entirely crowd-funded media project and is a fantastic series. I love seeing the scriptures and the stories of Jesus and his disciples brought to life in each episode, and I find that after watching episodes I desire to read my bible more (not that I should need a reason too.) 😊
    Also, if you’re interested, check out the playlist on my channel, ‘Scripture Brought to Life’, for more videos like this, with scripture reading edited in with scenes from The CHOSEN and other Christian media projects. I make these videos because I love reading the text and then seeing it all acted out on screen, and I am grateful that others are enjoying the videos as well. God bless. ✝️❤️

    Proverbs 8:22-35
    22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
    23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
    24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
    25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
    26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
    27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
    28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
    29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
    30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
    31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
    32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
    33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
    34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
    35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.
    now compare this Scripture from the Old Testament to this Scripture from the New Testament:
    John 1:1-18
    1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    2 The same was in the beginning with God.
    3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
    4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
    5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
    6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
    7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
    8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
    9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
    10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
    11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
    12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
    13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
    14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
    15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
    16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
    17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
    18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
    Colossians 1:15-17
    15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
    16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
    17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
    Hebrews 1:2-3
    2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
    3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
    Glory to the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God!

    All thing were made by Him...it reads not through him

    • @Matty_2_Tees
      @Matty_2_Tees  3 года назад +7

      Well actually, it reads “through him”, the KJV has a less accurate translation. The link below explains this for you.
      However, here is a snippet of the explanation…
      “Made by Him” or “Through Him”
      “The Greek Text for John 1:3 in all four Bible versions is as follows,
      πάντα διʼ αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο
      The transliterated form is panta di’ autou egeneto. The first Greek word is panta. It means “all.” The next Greek word is di’. It is an abbreviation of dia since this Greek word appears before a word with a vowel. The Greek word autou means “him, her or it.” The root meaning of the Greek word egeneto is “to become.”
      The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology states that the Greek word dia means “‘through” when followed by a noun in the genitive case.[1] Therefore, since autou is in the genitive case, dia means “through.” The Greek lexicon adds that dia refers to the instrument “through” which the “action passes before it is accomplished.”[2]
      The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology, a Greek Lexicon, states that dia means “passing through and out from,”[3] The Greek-Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature defines dia as “through, throughout” when the genitive is used.[4]”
      God bless. 😁👍

      @@Matty_2_Tees I will check it out and study up on it. But I point out that I believe God promised to preserve His Word. The other translations come from a line of text which is the minority text and changes the meaning of many Bible verses. The KJV came from the majority text(Textus Receptus)
      God said He would preserve His Word. If no translation in the global language (English like was Hebrew to Israel or Greek to the world then) has a perfect translation then we have to depend on man to exlain what God meant and the common man has no perfect copy of God's word-- only ones with mistakes. This runs contrary that God said He would do to preserve His Word to all generations. For then scholars or men become the authority and the comman man has not refernence of dependable authority.
      3) To say "through Him" lends way to the idealogly that Christ is a created god through whom God made the universe. Like JW teach. That is false doctrine for Jesus is God and One with the Father and He created everything. "Through" and "by" do not say the exact same thing so either one or the other must be correct.
      If you would like to know more why the KJV is different and NOT incorrect compare to the host of other bible translations you can check out New Age Bible Versions by Gail Riplinger. I do most sincerely believe that show the real war of a spiritual dimension going on when it comes to God's Word and its authority. Thank you for taking time to answer me but I stay by the KJV though out of my previous research. I will look into this as well.

    • @estherbaptist9086
      @estherbaptist9086 3 года назад +1

      The point is it is true that one word Hebrew or Greek has more than one meaning or translation that is why depending on the context or doctrine the English word chosen to represent it is considered in totality of scripture and context as well. To me to say if you tell me this object was made through Mark for example. I would assume someone else made it but used Mark as a means of doing so. Whole if you tell me this object was made by Mark I immediately consider Mark as its maker. I see the same is with "Through"( all others) and "by" (KJV) the Word was carefully chosen and by is not incorrect. For either by or through they are not perfectly interchangable. But according to the track record of changed Bible verse (in meaning too) by all the new translations using other corrupt minorty texts in their criteria I go with the KJV. By the way, I am not a kjv only person by any means. Anyone can be saved as long as thebasic truth of the gospel is preached. But I do believe God gave a perfectly preseved copy today of Scripture for us to read in the world language alive today.

    • @Matty_2_Tees
      @Matty_2_Tees  3 года назад +4

      @@estherbaptist9086 Am I to assume you didn’t check out the link I shared? I’m sorry, but you most certainly do sound like a “KJV only person”, or you would not have presented your argument for KJV being the only authentic translation… 🤷🏼‍♂️
      I read ESV & NKJV, but all honestly, I read multiple translations as I was taught to do by one of my theology professors. He taught that reading various translations can help you to better understand the meaning behind the text.
      Once again, I’m going to quote from an online journal. The author explains the reasoning behind translations…
      Bible translation differences
      “One important decision that Bible translators must make is whether to translate “word for word” (known as formal equivalence) from the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts or to translate “thought for thought” (known as dynamic equivalence).
      Most Bible translations fall somewhere in the spectrum between translating the exact words and phrases from the original languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek) or conveying the central idea. Dynamic equivalence translations are easier to read but not as accurate.
      Translators also decide whether to use gender-inclusive language, like saying “brothers and sisters” when the original text says “brothers,” but the meaning is clearly both genders. Similarly, translators must consider the use of gender-neutral language, like saying “person” or “one” or “humans” instead of “man” or “men.” In this case, most of the time, the Hebrew or Greek word can be translated either way, depending on context.” *1
      On the scale of “word for word” and “thought for thought” translations, KJV sits somewhere in between ESV & NKJV (which are on the “word for word” translation side). As previously stated, the KJV has made some translation errors, hence why I prefer the NKJV, for it keeps the poetic language of the KJV but has the translation errors corrected and is much easier to read.
      Having multiple translations does not mean that God hasn’t managed to preserve his word; in fact, I believe it cements this fact. You will find that the context from translation to translation is the same throughout. For example, comparing your KJV English Bible to a Chinese or Arabic bible, you will find some variance within the text because you’re not just directly translating the English words into their language; to translate, in some cases, you’ll have to make adjustments to words and sentences, but the context and meaning remain the same.
      The thought for thought translations like the NIV or NIRV gives the reader an easier to read experience, and in some cases, may convey the context of the original translation better. As you have already mentioned, some Hebrew & Greek words have multiple meanings, so the translators have to make an educated guess as to which English word they will use.
      As well, in English, we have only one word to convey something, for example, ‘love’, whereas ancient Koine Greek has multiple words for expressing the differing degrees of love;
      Eros (romantic, passionate love),
      Philia (affectionate love; a Friend)
      Agape (selfless, universal love)
      Storge (familiar love)
      Mania (obsessive love)
      Ludus (playful love)
      Pragma (enduring love)
      Philautia (self-love). *2
      I’ll give you an example of where translating from ancient Greek to English has lost some of its actual impact. I’ll use KJV for your benefit. 👍
      John‬ ‭21:15-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬
      (I’ve inserted the original Greek word used for ‘love’ so that you can see what I mean):
      Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest (agapaō) thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love (phileō) thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest (agapaō) thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love (phileō) thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest (phileō) thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest (phileō) thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love (phileō) thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
      * agapaō denotes a divine, self-sacrificial love, exemplified in God’s offering of his Son
      * phileō denotes an ‘inferior’ human love, more akin to a warm, friendly affection. *3
      Also, I’m not sure you are aware, but the original Greek and Hebrew texts didn’t use punctuation marks like commas; once again, the translators had to make an educated guess and decide where to place the comma. I’ll give you an example;
      And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
      (Luke 23:43 KJV)
      And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee today, shalt thou be with me in paradise.
      (Luke 23:43 KJV)
      If we move the comma, it changes the meaning of the timeframe Jesus is speaking off, rather than meaning the thief was with Jesus in paradise that day; it meant more of a future promise; Jews believe in a concept called soul sleep.
      I have gone somewhat off-topic, but I’m just trying to show you the importance of not relying purely on one translation.
      As far as translating ‘through’ rather than ’by’, you’re wrong to believe this implies the heretical doctrine that Jesus was a created being (Arianism). If you read Genesis, it says, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” (Genesis‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬). If you read this, you see that God spoke (the Word), and creation came to being. Now compare it to John 1:1-5, John describes Jesus as ‘the Word’, so through ‘the Word’, ‘Jesus’, God created all existence.
      If you have a basic understanding of the Holy Trinity (as best as any human can), you know that Jesus being “truly man and truly God”, is the creator of everything, but the Trinity isn’t as simple as all three are just the same.

    Reading the books of the New Testament, we probably asked ourselves more than once: *"Why 2000 years we do not see those miracles that accompanied the Сhurch of Christ in the I century, as described in the New Testament?"* Why do the so-called preachers of Christ have to prove that Jesus really existed and atheists boldly deny the historicity or divine origin of Christ? Maybe because the Сhurch of Christ has not existed for 2000 years?
    The Сhurch does not exist in the form in which it is presented in the books of the New Testament, but there are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and other christian sects claiming to be the place of the Church, but they not have the only thing that distinguishes the divine from the human and is characteristic of just the Сhurch of Christ -the reinforcement of the word with signs, that is, miracles (Mark 16:15-20). Therefore, some researchers doubt the historicity of Christ, and some of them are not opposed to declaring him a an ordinary philosopher, teacher. But even if Jesus were an ordinary philosopher, his disciples would be ordinary followers of Jesus. And they would not dare to write about the miracles that not only Jesus, but also his disciples, could perform. In this world, the great fertility of atheism can be explained by the fact that there is no main opponent of critics of the Bible - the Church. If there were the Church in our time as described by the authors of the New Testament books, where miracles are performed, the sick are healed, where prophesied, and the dead are raised, no one would doubt the historicity of Christ. Then there would be the same controversy throughout the world as in the first century - Jesus the Son of God or the false prophet who seduces the world by miracles. As a result, we can say that the emergence and development of christian sects and atheism was the result of the fact that over the 2000 years the Сhurch of Christ did not exist.

      The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's and Jesus Christ one and only true church here on earth. It was restored here on earth through Jesus Christ by the prophet Joseph Smith. He restored all that was lost from the gospel. There are many miracles that have happened and taken place since Joseph restored the fullness of the gospel. The Book of Mormon contains another witness of Jesus Christ being the Son of God, our Lord and Savior. Join God and Jesus Christ in their Kingdom and join their true church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and learn all that they have to offer. Learn of their glory and mercy, learn of the plan they have of you.

      @@dylanwilliams2202 You write: *"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's and Jesus Christ one and only true church here on earth."* - The Church of Christ was destroyed in the first century, and for 2,000 years only false churches have appeared that claim to be the Church of Christ but among which God is not present, in no church is the baptism of the Holy Spirit and no manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
      What can we know about the Church of Christ? What was she like? We know about the Church of Christ only what is known from the books of the New Testament. We do not know of any other Church of Christ outside the New Testament. What was the Church of Christ in the books of the New Testament? Certainly not symbolic and not invisible, but a strictly hierarchical organization consisting of believers baptized with the Holy Spirit, where the Gifts of the Holy Spirit were manifested.
      As written: *"Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."* (1 Corinthians 12:27-28).
      This was the Church of Christ in the first century, but for 2000 years we no longer see such a Church of Christ, there are no Apostles, no prophets, no one has miraculous powers and gifts of healing. But we see gatherings of people headed only by teachers speaking in the name of Christ, but not having the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
      Jesus said: *"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.*
      *So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following..."* (Mark 16:15-20).
      I would like to draw your attention to these words: "the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following".
      that is, miracles reinforce the word of God and they are important for the preaching of the teachings of Jesus.
      For 2000 years, including our time, we have not seen any believers who have accompanied or are accompanying these signs. But in the books of the New Testament we read that in the first century, believers performed many miracles.
      As written: *“And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people”* (Acts 6:8).
      *“Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them”* (Acts 15:12).
      *"Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city"* (Acts 8:5-8).
      Where are Stephanes, Barnabas, Pauls in our time? Where is Philip, who brings great joy to the cities?
      In which church do the blind gain sight? Where are the lame and bedridden jumping for the joy of being healed? Where are demons cast out? Where are the dead raised? Where are the Prophets? Where do they lay hands on the sick and get rid of sickness? Such miracles are not performed in any church, anywhere in the world.
      Jesus said: *“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”* (John 14:12).
      But where are these believers now doing the works of Jesus and even more than Jesus himself did?
      The Church of Christ was destroyed in the first century and for 2000 years false churches appear that claim to be the Church of Christ but do not have the testimony of God, that is, miracles. It was by miracles that God testified about the Church of Christ, just as he testified about Jesus.
      As written: *“Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:”* (Acts 2:22).
      God testified about Jesus, and then about the Church of Christ by miracles. But the Church of Christ was destroyed in the same way as Christ was killed in due time, and therefore the signs and wonders that accompanied the Church ceased, and now She has been buried for 2000 years, but will rise in the last days as Jesus rose again.
      The prophecy of the death and resurrection of the Church is present in the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13).
      "Revelation" also prophesies about the emergence of the Church: *“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:”* (Revelation 12:1).
      The emergence of the Church will just be a great sign of the imminent Coming of Christ.
