I love how Chandler and Ross gives Joey a hard time about being feminine when Joey is the strongest of the three, Chandler has been accused of being gay more than anyone and Ross has done more feminine things.

Chandler and Ross are really insecure, so they take that out on others. Like chandler accusing joey of being a woman here and also when he got into some feminine hobbies when Janine moved in. Also like when Ross refusing to hire that extremely qualified male nanny. Joey is more sure of himself. That is why even when the guys are making jokes at his expense he doesn’t mind. I just hate that the show made joey feel bad about the bag later on. Effectively taking chandler and ross’s generally sexist view of “guys need to be macho all the time” for comedic effect.

@@kbanghart I did get the joke. They're saying it is a woman's bag so there will be a compartment for makeup . That kind of joke promotes a silly notion that makeup is only worn by women . Matthew, Matt and David are all wearing makeup in this scene whilst playing these characters so the joke is childish. It would be like Rachel teasing Monica for dying her hair when Jennifer Aniston herself colours her hair all the time.

@@Mina-gk8jm You've missed my point. The point of the storyline is to mock a male for wearing makeup under any circumstance. However, every male actor who is on TV wears makeup. The joke wasnt that the makeup was obvious - the joke was that even the notion of a male wearing makeup was ridiculous.
