I always have a Johnson sprite rigged up to one of my poles. I’m in FL with clean water so we only throw a 1/8oz with light leader. Absolute fish catcher for sure. Also I’ve never had any issue with tying the leader straight to the spoon. I’ve tried both ways.
Charlie, great informative video, you make some of the best! Here’s a question off the subject, do you fish wake baits for reds? How deep does a wake bait fish? What is your two favorite colors for catching red fish
On weed less spoons they tend to spin while retrieving so it will twist your line, but the inline spoons they tend to wobble and normally don’t twist the line but the weed less spoons will twist that line every time so a swivel is needed.
Fantastic video for the NONBELIEVERS. Used Gold Spoons started 25-30 yrs ago
Thanks for the video. Great info

Great Video Capt
You said split ring and swivel for weedless, would the same hold true if spoon wasn't weedless?

I fished the Mr. Champ with the gold buck tail. Killa dilla for Reds in the fall as well. Not certain if they still make those.
