This Keertan is from Guru Pyaare, Guru Svaare, Gurmukh Keertanee, Bhai Avtar Singh ji's last keertan tour at 80 years of age. During this tour they were at the peak of their naam kamaaee and seva as a keertanee; their keertan and katha overflowed with sweetness, amrit ras, sehaj and chardhi kala! Their smile while doing katha was a sight to behold! Listening to Bhai Avtar Singh ji's voice and bachan face-to-face transported the sangat/congregation to a different realm. At each divaan, the sangat was filled with these spiritual vibrations and indescribable feeling of Nectar.
As 11th generation keertanees from Guru Sahib's period, they sing reets/ compositions/ melodies sung and taught to each generation by their fore-fathers. This treasure contains rare compositions in various Raags, vaday taals, Partaals, and Dhrupads sung in the Guru's court and in Sri Harimandar Sahib. These gurmat sangeet compositions are centuries old and have the power to transport a Gursikh to a higher spiritual state.
