Smh my head, I was expecting Azul to start this video like usual saying something like "What is going on you Icky Igglybuff?" or "What is going on you Sleepy Seadra?" and I'm greeted by a normal intro instead.
I feel like Joltik is just too slow for this meta. Basically giving up your first turn attack to set up seems like too much. I think going all in on Magneton and going first, and trying to get energy into the discard would be better. You could also put in cards like Defiance Band to hit better damage thresholds, which might be better than Gravity Mountain sometimes, since you search it with Arven.
cool then you are giving your opponent free prize cards just for you to attack. i feel like this deck is gona be clumpy no matter how you play it so better put your energy in building a miraidon deck (with the pickachu as an attack option) then this.
@@salkedomhans Miraidon’s gonna be GOATed after Pikachu got an even better attacker, a use for counter catchers with Magneton, and with Pikachu 8 bench space.
I think you're cookin. Especially if you were going this route, you could also get more counter catchers to snipe more reliably. Probably cut the jolts and a boss for one more of those and add another magneton line. Most decks are just running too many 2 prizers not to take a trade of one for two, since pika's hard to clap back. I like the tech of the powerstones but maybe an energy switch or something like that might prove more useful in this type of build. Overall great list still!
2 genuine questions as I am new to PTCG, 1. Why not earthen vessel away the steel energy if Arven is grabbing the powerglass? (7:20) Is this over committing to the board giving your opponent an easy attack (I'm also keeping in mind that it is probably optimal to grab another steel energy off the earthen vessel). 2. How would this deck handle the stall match-ups with Ogrepon and Mimikyu? Since we don't have many attackers that swing around these pokemon?
@@SwaxemanBro this list is trash, I was not even talking about it. I run defiance band, and some people do run crystal, in that case it's better, not to mention sometimes it's good to have energy back in your hand to reutilize greninja's ability, which you should run BTW.
Ok question maybe instead of the switch cart you could possibly play latias ex wouldn't that just be better? since you effetely search the latias ex off arven with nest ball.
So far with an arven and an energy for turn and joltik, if u can get an earthen vessel and miraidon, can get 2 pikachus on the field with a sparkling crystal and have 2 Pikachu attacks ready for the next 2 turns right off the rip, if u got some pivot, with them rescue boards, switch carts etc, ur chaining attacks and giving no prize cards to the opponent with magneton
Love the deck. Would also love to see what you think of the new Tatsugiri EX and weather it would be better as just a supporter pokeom or able to hold its own as a deck. Probably won’t be super meta but would love to see your take on it
Azul, do you think a version of Pikachu with a similar engine to your Galvantula video could function just as well? I know there's obvious apeal behind Magneton, but i feel if you keep hitting the 300 damage with pika, you're rolling, but idk.
isn't dragapult going to be totally ok against it? One cancelling cologne to start the match off and then tap each pikachu with 10 or use rad alakazam to move damage onto current pikachu if they penny
Dragapult and Gardevoir are probably both really bad match ups. Pikachu is a great card in the format, but I don't think it has the potential to be BDIF by any means. It is too easy to tech against. But it does help slow down the format as a whole.
@@zacharyjackson7584how does a hyper aggressive two prize deck, that also sometimes gives your opponent a prize card, slows down the meta? its the opposite direction which is exactly what we not need right now
@@salkedomhans Because its only really good match up are "hyper aggressive two prize decks". Decks that can reliably OHKO anything every turn like Raging Bolt are going to struggle against pikachu. Pikachu could win against them because it forces the games to last longer. Pikachu DOES NOT counter most decks. In fact it is far worse at being "hyper aggressive" than most decks with a lot more that can go wrong. So the more agressive 2 prize decks there are the more Pikachu can take them down leading to better matchups with single prize and evolution decks.
I still think Pikachu isn't that great. It's costly to discard the energy each turn and have them back next turn for another attack. I feel like Sparkling Crystal + Crispin could help it out a bit more.
true, the ace spec he chose my not be the best op but crispin does work better imo and Sparkling Crystal was my first thought but Hyper Aroma also helps with the quick magnetons evo's also saw some lists with Noctowl cause of its ability and Area Zero to increase the bench size, still not sure whats optimal but this one's pretty good, looking forward to playin it when it drops
Pikachu has a very good matchup into things that can't place damage on the same turn ,ex: munkidori, dusknoir and things like that are a bad matchup for the Pikachu deck if they keep cycling those Pikachus
Can't see why should add power glass if u are going to use magneton anyway. That Pokemon will do the whole job anyway. I saw some cool ideas in order to improve this deck
I was looking over the new cards and I was like, "there's no way Pikachu EX doesn't become a top deck there's so many good cards to make it work." My instinct was to use some Clemont's Whit too, but I guess it's not necessary if you can just get Pikachu off the field, I felt like Tauro could work, but now that I saw your build yeah Penny makes way more sense. I LOVE scoop up I just got into the game and was shocked no one was running it over Tauro, but I mean- once I switched to Tauro I could see why I've been using Charizard, but already I'm like, "damn a Pallosand ex Dusknoir deck though would destroy and so would Pikachu EX" very tempted to try out both.
Not a problem because the deck plays counter catcher and activates it with magneton being koed, the only way you auto loss is if only 2 mimikyu (or the new milotic ex) in the board and nothing else.
I’m putting pikachu in a miraidon deck because pikachu alone would face so much trouble IMO. I’m opening the match with rotom and iron hands And ending it with pikachu and raikou I haven’t test it out so idk if it’s any good, i hope so! I don’t think i wanna try charizard and dragapult nor the V focused decks. They’re costly and V will rotate next year (Update: turns out azul did put pikachu in a miraidon deck too😂)
nah generators are still much better. you basically NEED to attack with joltik before you can attack with pikachu. This is reminicent to arceus decks and even arceus doing 180 and having vstar, has become too slow in the meta.
Ive won a lot of games going first by donking Joltik T1 with Brute Bonnet and Radient Sneasler whrn people were trying out Galvantula. Looking forward to having the chance to do it again.
Honestly a HUGE Pika fan
It’s got some serious potential. Dusknoir might be a bit of a problem though..

really love this type of video! very insightful and creative with the solitaire game.

I agree, this is not the best list out there, Joltik is only for going second, it’s better just to blow up magneton.
I honestly recommend changing scoop up to tera crystal as it reduces the energy cost and maybe Electric Generator for the electric energies
Would you ever try a Crispin in here?
I put one in there but trust joltic is crazy good
