Cotswold Clouds 2024: Two cars overturn on ‘Crooked Mustard’ motor racing trial in Gloucestershire

- Drivers from across the UK took part in the 2024 Cotswold Clouds car trial in Gloucestershire today (February 4 2024) - which included the notorious s-shaped ‘Crooked Mustard’ stage in Dursley - a slippery, muddy, twisting uphill track through a forest. However, the stage was quickly cancelled after two cars overturned on the hill. The Gloucestershire-based event has been running since 1950.

This was horrible to watch, glad all involved are ok. Makes me wonder how much longer Crooked Mustard will be part of the clouds. Also astounded by the number of open cars that don't have roll bars, not something I'd noticed before but it was lucky that both cars that overturned had rollover protection
Todays issues were more to do with the reversing tactics than the hill itself being a problem. Luckily it seems all involved were ok.

@user-qi5ho9oz1n it was a freak incident that is very rare on these events. There are strict rules regarding children in the cars and they are very safe. You should go and watch an event and you will see what it is like. There's a reason you don't see lots of videos of cars rolling on classic car trials on RUclips, it's just so rare
@user-qi5ho9oz1n it's not a baby in the back seat there's a minimum age. The child in question is seatbelted in a car that has a rollcage. The fact there was 2 in half an hour was again one of those freak things, which I'd like to point out that this event has been running 75+ years and there's only been a handful of cars roll over throughout the years. The event organisers cancelled the section after and there was no issues at any of the other sections. So it's perfectly safe to have them in the backseats
I was there for one of the crashes but 2 people got in my way so i couldn't see it but i heard it and now i finally get to see it
