I've made a few sinkers. The mould needs to be hot - but not too hot! I've had the lead run straight out the bottom. Trial and error but quite easy to get right... Great video mate!

mate. easy as. but as someone noted. your wearing shorts. welders leathers are better an apron and gloves , old clothes will stick to flesh if its exposed to hot metal, the iron vice is sapping the mould heat away. use some wooded vice jaws as insulation, water will expand 17000 times its original volume. thats why it will seems like it molten lead explodes. so don't sweat over your pot, ahh the pot. one day its gunna tip over. and burn something real bad, wear a safety mask unless you want to end up like a lead man I just luv the experts on you tube how do you clean the molten lead in the pot. and don't throw the crud away. is heavy and can be used as a weight

    • @joegoedhart1259

Australia was built on Stubby shorts. Its funny how shorts are now banned on building sites due to skin cancer, but you are allowed to smoke on site. I can't pitch/sheet roofs in long pants, they are hot and dangerous (slipping down between stride, on rafters while wearing a nail bag) so won't do the jobs with these rules. Mine sites are definitely out. I would like to see how you add a bait release to a star sinker for surf fishing, thanks. Good video. Faultless. Wear whatever you are comfortable in. You been doing it for years and you know your limitations, and too much clothing/weight (in my trade)..will be the cause of the accident.
