After I watched the movie and heard that song, I've had an idea what my success looks like. It's not just about being Mr. Olimpia. It's about life. Find your goal, find a way to do it and do it this way every day - you'll get there, I promise you. I just wake up and the first thing I do is say to myself - Never gonna stop til I get what I want! And I just do it. It's that simple, believe me.
This movies will change the perspective you see/think of your life. It will never be the same. So many years passed but this remained with me. Can never thank enough to the people involved in the making of this masterpiece. Highly recommended.
The beginning intro song of Generation Iron with all the past Mr Olympias is one of the greatest songs ever made..If this ain't gonna motivate a guy/gal, I don't know what does.. I had deleted the movie after watching it over a yr back, but I came back to collect it again, this time 4ever..Its one of the classics on bodybuilding..
You may like or not Kai Greene for his body, his choices in life, but his philosophy of training is the most respectable thing I've ever heard in this sport.
Pouring out my heart, digging out my soul - Apt as fuck, I'm a tiny little person but one day I want to be great. Good luck to the rest of the peeps grinding the fuck out tryna do something others said was impossible.
Im not overly impressed with the idea of the necessary egocentric bodybuilding mentality required to be the best... if rather pay my respects to someone who spends their lives and working hours caring 4 others.... no hate here just sharing an opinion about the people who are often overlooked in life....
ist not motivational its demotivational. sad music, athlets which are talking about being tired and seem to depressed and so on. instead pumoinh iron was positive, hard training, girls, eating laying on the beach and having a good time, being pumped and feeling amazing (,,like cuming ever day and every night,,) generation iron shows why you should not bodybuulding 70-80s had a positive message but than it was turning down ...
Maybe cause bodybuilding also went to shit over time. There's no Arnold, no Frank Zane, no iconic Mr Olympia who's able to represent the sport and attract new people to it, with the exception of Chris Bumstead lately. Nowadays it's all about how much mass you can pack on and how many injections you can take in before your heart gives out. Aesthetics are no longer pursued, unnatural dudes posing as natural afraid they're going to lose sponsors otherwise and other petty shit like that. Bodybuilding is pretty dead. What should be promoted is general fitness and training to the younger generation. They have no guidance, no goals no war to fight. They're all depressed and wonder what their place in this world is. That didn't use to be the case back in the 70s 80s. Many look up to arnold and the old bodybuilders because they were good human beings who made it in life and were good rolemodels. These guys don't have what it takes to do that and there will never be another Arnold. Sad shit really
You guys have nothing to do with bodybuilding and it shows. What is the problem with bodybuilders talking about being tired and depressed? Do they not go forward regardless? Pumping Iron was mostly staged, and only showed the bright side of bodybuilding. This sport is tough, hard, stressful, full of sacrifices, beautiful, peaceful, amazing, motivating and demotivating, everything combined. If you think the real successful bodybuilders are laying on a beach with girls giving head while they are doing pushups, you are delusional and you belong to Zumba and Yoga classes (no disrespect to these two, just a clear difference needed to be made). This song motivates me a lot, I love the guitar, the lyrics, the video, everything.
