You have some of the best Ventrac videos on RUclips. Love the comparison!

Which one picks up tall bedded down grass the best? The deer bed down in my tall grass making it difficult to mow.

I would say the flails. You can cut a lot lower withe the flails and get ptetty close to the ground.

I agree with you, my go-to is the tough cut!! The flails do great work, but it seems that the tough cut can do both, cut harsh material and mow your yard with it. Thanks for the video!!

The tough cut would be the obvious choice for my needs. Cool you had the opportunity to make such a comparison.

Thanks for the video! Still haven’t been able to demo the flail mower deck so this definitely helps weigh the pros and cons to each. Great video of comparing all 3 decks!

Glad to help. I think with your business a flail mower would be a great addition to your tough cut deck. The nice thing with the flails are when you cut down weeds and your customers see the nice beautiful stripes they will be having you come back. If I could afford all 3 i would have them. Lol

I’m a bit confused. In regular tractor flails, the hammer/scoop blades are usually for brushy stuff, while the Y blades are usually for grass. Why (and how0 did they reverse this?

They all seemed to leave more material than I would care to see. If this was my yard, I would probably either double cut (which is a huge waste of time) or cut more often (which is also not preferable). For $8850.00 I would expect a little better. I would like to see Ventrac experiment with putting 2 rows of flails to see if that will process the cut grass so small it would disappear. It would be nice if you would have done an experiment with the fine cut showing what you would get double cutting. Thank you for doing this video, it was very helpful.

A lot has to do with the height of cut. I was cutting on the very low side with the tall thick material. If you raise the flail another inch it makes a big difference. I shpuld have showed that in this video, But I was trying to compare it to lowest cut of tough cut. In really tall groth for a better look you may have to make another pass if you want a very clean cut. I cut my back lot with both flails and after a few days of drying out it looks great for the groth that was there.

Wow, great comparison. I like the flare cuts. I hope ventrac gives you something for this . I have never seen them do anything like this. Thank you for sharing

I dont expect anything for doing these videos. I do RUclips for fun to show people products to help them with there decisions on what would be best. I have fun doing Ventrac videos, And it gives me time to play and try out different attachments that I have not used yet. Ventrac does a excellent job making videos of there proroducts. There videos showing the tractor in action was a big part of my decision to sell my old tractor and get the Ventrac. I am glad you like these videos, And I hope they help you make a great decision on what would work best for you.

Cool video thanks for sharing because I'm really interested in the difference between the different types of mowers because theres just so many but that field isn't thick at all compared to my backyard honestly because I have different types of weeds in my yard that are literally as thick as your thumb and they grow pretty much annually but there's all kinds of different weeds in my backyard but I really wish I had one of these Ventracs and probably the tough cut mower plus the power rake to use afterwards in certain places for my situation to kind of act like a disk a little bit or a tiller a little bit in certain areas only but for my situation that combination would probably be the best right?

Awesome video comparing the different mowers. One question I have when it comes to the Ventrac machines, have you ever thought about getting the KM500 loader to do some demo videos ? Had one of Vantrac's videos for the attachment show up in my recommended list the other day.

I would love to get one to try sometime, But not sure how easy it would be to get. I will see what I can do. The loader looks awesome.

@AndrewGooden-k6k You can not go wrong with the tough cut. I love the flails, But I have to say there is just something so satisfying about being able to go into thick brush and trees and mow them right down. The cut quality of the flails is amazing. You will love the Ventrac tough cut deck, I am glad this video helped you decide what attachment would work best for you.
