@@lewisboyd1480 I lived in Beatty for a year recently. Burro's bent my gas meter trying to get to vegitation in my back yard. Neibor had them on his front porch often. Eating cat food.

Seems like a lot more people than when we were there first part of December 2020. We stayed at the Furnace Creek Campground for two nights. Really nice full hook-up sites (only 10 of them I think). I have videos in my channel.
At 11:25, The building on Google Maps 'street view' shows the building before the fire. The Google Maps 'aerial view' shows what's left after the fire. I think I heard you say $35 for the entrance fee but I believe it's $25 still. I like following the journey(s) on Google Maps...LOL

I'm just starting to watch the video. I'm right there with you. One of my favorite photos was when I found the sign that says: "Death Valley Health Center". It just seemed like a beautiful oxymoron. I took a photo of it.
That building across from the inn is now called mission gardens. A green space for weddings and such. Use to be a laundry and storage befor a fire 15 years ago
For anyone that visits Las Vegas, this area is just a nice drive away from the city. One of the highlights of our three visits to Vegas from the southeast.
I have been through there twice on the way to Vegas. I also have a senior park pass but never stopped to get a window sticker. No one ever stopped me or said anything. the last time we went through the area it was 124 degrees. Incredible.
Haven't been through Death Valley in ~35 years but oh what a place. If you're going through there and not camping or RVing make arraignments for motels, start early, and stop frequently (and don't go mid-Summer). Few powerlines or fences, and a different kind of beauty!
The Golden Pass is really a bargain, I purchased mine when they were $10.00 at Carlsbad Caverns. Paid for it self that day all of us, four people, used it to tour the caverns. I know they are more expensive now and so are the admissions to the parks. Nice video enjoyed it a lot, thank you.
I was in Iraq and it hit 150'. That was almost 20 years ago. I don't think I could take it now. Most people have no idea how hot that really is. Drink an gallon of water an hour and never visit the head. Evaporates right off the skin.

I'm almost 70 and I've always been fascinated by deserts. I'm going to drop a destination on you.... China Ranch Date farm in Tecopa California. When my ex and I lived in Nevada (Clark county), we took a day trip out there..... was a couple of hours away. But it's really cool.
The only thing that did not change is always the visitor center. The Ranch at Death Valley used to be a motel with carports. There were no palm trees and no golf courses. Now the rooms are about $400 to $500 a night. I googled.
Check with the guy who runs the county hot springs in tecopa. They do jeep runs and know the area. Like the place called dodge city; where to get water; good spots etc.

The Inn at Death Valley (originally called the Furnace Creek Inn, mostly for the rich and famous) was built in 1927 and The Ranch at Death Valley in 1933.
Can you imagine all the pioneers and prospectors setting out for California full of excitement and hope and joy, only to suffer a miserable death in Death Valley?😢
This is so sad. Back in 1970 my family took a trip in a volts wagon to death Valley and we stayed in a 200 year old jail with a cemetery behind it because it was raining so hard. The next morning everything was flooded and the dog had to swim from our bunkbeds over to my parents bed. This looks like Palm Springs not death valley
