  • One of the advantages with a cooled astro camera is that you can control the temperature and that means that you can make a library of part of your calibration frames, darks and flat darks. With this library you can reuse your dark and dark flat frames, but it is recommended that you update them from time to time. In this video I will show you how to make a sequence for your dark and flat dark frames using N.I.N.A. and the basic sequencer and then integrate them using PixInsight.

    Hi Martin,
Good idea about creating the DARK Library. Great tip on just saving the Master frame. I need to dispose of all my individual frames as they are just taking up space.

I've been thinking of creating a library too, but I don't have a cooled camera and also with my clip in filters, the flats look unique every time due to dust particles :D

Yes, I also take flats for each session, but dark flats and darks does not look any different I would say :D

How did you get DARKFLATS to show up in the type dropdown?

You mean in NINA? I think they removed it recently, since they are darks.

I'm not using that for darks, dark flats and flats. I am using that for lights.
