Great video. Did you find initially that it felt like the shoe came up too high on the ankle so it rubbed on your ankle knob/bone? That's what it feels like right now and I want to run in them but hoping this rubbing on my ankle bone feeling goes away with a little break in. TIA.
Thanks mate! It doesn't feel too high for me it just feels like it's not completely contoured to the ankle so there's a bit of slipping. For example I've run in asics which are moulded a little tighter in the ankle and don't slip around as much so I hope Altra take some notes from other brands like that but apart from that it didn't actually cause any rubbing or discomfort on my ankle. Maybe you have a more pronounced ankle bone than I do? Hopefully once the shoe breaks in it won't rub as much for you

The only problem was he said they didn’t drain too well we have a lot of string process when he got his tried and felt great but you said after one run through like three or stream crossings he’s the shoes felt like it stayed wet the whole time and then he put it up the little thing air dry and he said that he took forever, so some shoes are like that they don’t need it
I haven't tested them through streams yet, they work fine in the rain but yes there's a big difference running through a stream! That's good to know, thanks for the tip!

I actually just got back from a run in my Timp 5s now 😁 I would say the heel slip is probably most noticeable on uphill climbs but it doesn't actually have a negative impact on my performance and I forget about it quite quickly and don't notice it anymore. I raced a half marathon in them recently which had about 550m of vert and some good steep downhills in it which I went as fast as I could down them and they held up exceptionally well. The heel slip is certainly not as bad as the Olympus 5
Hey mate, I actually went up half a size for this shoe which fits really well. I think it's safe to go up half a size for a slim or standard fit Altra compared to the Original fit because the original fit is quite a bit wider
I wouldn't say they're exceptionally breathable, but I haven't had any issues in that area yet either. Sorry that's probably not a great answer but I suppose with trail shoes they prioritize protection over breathability
