I was at this battle, pumpkin head was mad el Gant mopped his boy breeze, and accused Gant of using writings ,in reality they were all using writing elements ( for Christ sake it was on mtv after school millions of watchers ) but Gant did freestyle and ended up undefeated, but yes they became friends and had a lot of respect for each other.
Me and PH and Mr. Met were all tight friends and I was also and still an with them all....RIP Rob aka Pumpkinhead....I was "studying" for my 106th and Park battle while Gant was for DFX. We were all pinned against each other and were all friends esp me being stuck in bthe middle. I tried to help them both best I could while brushing up on 106th n Parks current Champ I was battling the same week. It was wild, Gant and Brooklyn A.c. are all my family so it was hard for me to choose a aide and try to help, esp with my own 106th n park battle coming up. Anyway RIP to my brother PH, and salute my brother El Gant... This was the only real battle with real emcees on MTV and they both killed it. My #FAM ---Bekay
I prefer these types of battles, on beats. It forces dudes to actually rhyme. The acapella joints are stupid, theres no structure and the bars arent bars they are paragraphs. I just hate it.
