I've been following Broski since I switched to AKI but I just genuinely enjoy the dude's content so much that even if I ever leave AKI, I know I won't be leaving Broski's content. The dude is great.
I watched his match analysis. He expected to go 0-5 or 1-5 and he didnt want to do that. So he fought very hard to get some sets for the sake of Aki. Unfortunately Broski concludes that AKI needs buffs (especially a better anti-air) because Menard kept jumping late, but still Broski couldnt punish/check him.
The Broski and MenaRD set was godlike. Broski got to showcase his adaptation, skill and high tier AKI play, and you got to see MenaRD adapt and "activate" in real time. He looked pressured when Broski took the lead even with that poker face. After that match MenaRD took no prisoners, he didn't let anyone establish a foothold again
Broski was inspirational in this Tournament dude. I play AKI myself and to see him be the only one to make Mena sweat was incredible. Huge props to him he was the hero of the tournament for sure.
The Red Bull Kumite production is on another level, has been for years. EVO might be the biggest tournament, Capcom Cup the most prestigious. But Red Bull Kumite is hands down the best. Shout out to Broski for making me believe.
@@OutsidetheQube it was sick as hell. im not sure how it sounded on the stream but broski got one of the biggest applauses of the night. people were mad as hell when LI Joe dubbed him
@therealiverbz everyone was going for Mena when he went up 2, then when brokski came back everyone was going for broski it was absolutely insane. Capcom cup didn't have a tenth of that energy
This Kumite event was awesome. I can't wait for more and I hope other FGC events take notice on what made this so fun. The current field of sponsored "FGC esport" events can be such a drag to watch and really just waste your time as a viewer. I tend to REGRET spending days watching them from beginning till end. Thank you Red Bull for allowing the FGC to put on an actual event that highlights the production, hosts, themes, players, matches, commentators, all in one package. I had a blast.
The big problem is that there is no money. Red Bull can pull this off, but no FGC entity that isn't a corporation like Sony, Capcom, Bandai Namco, (aka mostly the publishers themselves), actually have the money to pull this off. Recall that as an invitational, they have way less player money run things with, which is a huge problem for 90% of FGC competitions. Being an invitational matters because way less players means way more time for production instead of production basically being squishing as many matches as they can into a day. EVO for instance doesn't do this because they are regularly already running over schedule fitting in their multitude of games. Most other offlines are also multi game because it's cheaper to rent out a venue for one weekend for all the games than have the games seperate. This will never be the norm for offline events, there just isn't enough money in the FGC. Red Bull did this, but you need other big corps to step up for this to be a trend, not just support of the fans.
@@hteetyi agree i think s lot of times if the main events let the players so more of the trash talk and show it would make it fun still. We aren't getting rid of Ads until it gets real funding.
I loved the cab theme. It was brilliant. I think the matches weren't as hype with so many 5-0/5-1, but the whole production elevated the thing to one of the best SF events I've seen. Also, it was a real heartbreaker to see Broski off the tournament in round 1, but he _was_ the only one to not get completely trampled by the bull, so moral victory there. lol
Yeah it was a little surprising with all the huge 5-0's. I guess this is how SF6 is sometimes. Definitely agree with Brian_F that the Dual Kevin/Chris Wong and the Broski/MenaRD matches were the highlight.
I really enjoy how you narrate these events and storylines, it really brings them to life for me. I typically don't have time (or timezone compatibility) to watch in full so I appreciate the breakdown.
Hey man, I will tell you now that during the arcade error the FGC was MASSIVE here in South Africa, particularly the KoF games. We had arcade machines inside almost every shop on almost every corner.
The event aside, I know this isn't your first time recapping things in this format but this video was really clean, Brian 👍🏼👍🏼 Great storytelling and a smooth presentation 👌🏼
Seeing Idom so sad broke my heart. He's the only reason why I keep playing Manon. But apart from that that event was a 10/10 as usual. They've been improving and can't wait for next year I'll finally be able to attend one.
I would say some of the matches kind of suck because there was a good amount of 5-0, 5-1. There’s definitely great ones like the one you mentioned, broski vs menard (and others I’m forgetting) But red bull Kumite really knows what we want. Such a fun event to watch.
@@RockBottom7626 yeah because can’t fault red bull for it, the event in general made me feel “damn I wish other events did that”. It was easily the most hype and entertaining tournament in the past year, I'd even place it above EVO. LI Jerk and Fight King Rob were the characters that are needed at these events. Although it doesn’t have the setup like RBKumite with the crowd etc, it was still a fun offline event with a pretty high production quality. I also think our scene is pretty underrated as the guy who won this tournament never used the same character (based on the games that were streamed). Hopefully soon I get to join in these types of events as well
I agree 100% with how we kinda lost the VIBE of the FGC, I immediately thought of LilMajin's run on Tekken Evo 2018, what made it so hype was not just his skill and beating the gods, but his charisma. And I think like you said we've focused so much on corporate, professional and high-end production that we've kinda left the personality and FUN of the FGC behind, this event was proof that we still have that, and it's worth to keep it.
