Fantastic, reminds me of mountains with my old Black Lab back in the day. Dogs can be daft, but they're certainly not stupid! Beinn a' Ghlo is a mountain I only know from maps and books, so nice to see it like this. Looks like a fine big hill, and a good way to do it.
A beautiful location with stunning views...well done Lexie..it was funny when you took off your back pack Lexie came running knowing it was food time....a long day but worth it...many thanks and best wishes
Didn't your wee girl Lexie do well! That is a long hike for such wee legs, but she looked like she enjoyed every minute of it ❤🐾. The scenery was superb as ever, but Lexie definitely stole the show on this one 😊. Thanks as ever for taking us along. ATB Shell and Pete
Lovely walk with You and Lexi really enjoyed seeing how much you both enjoyed it ....At one point when she was in front of the camera and her ears were flapping in the breeze reminded me of the Herges Adventures of Tin Tin illustrations !!! Lovely 😅😅😊😊😊😊
What a great day out. That graded track wasn't there when I did the route out that way. It was serious heather bashing. Funny how you recall such bits about trips. Lexi is amazing
I enjoyed the hik, especially seeing wee Lexi, shes a great hike companion now shes had experience. That was a real nice path, and the heather is beautiful just now. Thanks Murray....Alioban
I think it would be a good one for that given the quality of the tracks Jules - afraid you'd be going with out me - I cant run the length of myself!!lol
After enjoying the film of your trip Murray I revisited Bheinn a' Ghlo today for the 1st time in at least 20 years. We did your route in reverse and descended from Airgiod Bheinn. The path was slightly fragmented at start of descent off the ridge and then disappeared into the heather lower down. Looking back I can see how you couldn't find the start of the path when you were climbing up. Thanks again for sharing another inspiring video! ATB Derek 👍
A nice hike with your dog She steals the show especially when her little ears are flapping in the wind! You know fall is around the corner when the day starts off cool Take care 🇨🇦❤️
Hi Sue, wont be too long now until the first flurries of snow start appearing in the forecast for the mountains :) always an exciting time (for me anyway ) - cant wait Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Thanks for another great video as always scenery stunning and information about area very informative. Loved watching your little companion running around and enjoying the outing . Look forward to the next adventure from you. ATB and take care.
Your wee one was having a ball! If I remember rightly I believe we were there doing the 3 a couple of days before you with our two pooches so lots of sniffs for her 😊 Really good set up with the new car park as very busy there.
She had a great time :) the car park is welcome as the old one always got full really quickly - makes a trip there less stressful knowing there is a nice big car park now :) Thanks for watching Murray
I hope Lexie enjoyed her walk with you as much as I did. What a great video- beautiful views, great commentary, some interesting rock formations among the boulders and, for me, the added bonus of the camera placements among the wild flowers and wind blown grasses. Loved it! Thank you 😄⛰️🏴🥾❤️
Another great video Murray. Well Lexie did amazing, the distance she walked was unreal. Don't know if i could of done it. Scenery brilliant as usual, well that's Scotland for you. Catch up with you soon mate. Take care and stay safe.
Car park hasn't half improved, Well done wee Lexi. Some shift. 💪 I'd have to carry ma Ghillie most of the way. 😁 Cheeky wee hint of high pressure this coming weekend. Boot time. 🤞
Hi Murray, love this vlog. We tried this a month or so back but the weather stopped us on Carn Liath. The path as you said is fabulous and the parking is some of the best. Even at £5. (See Arrochar for a rip off car park.) The views looked spectacular from this side. Thanks again for sharing. Love your channel.
I agree about the Arrochar car parks. I'm with Murray in that I'm happy to pay a contribution towards path upkeep etc - I was happy to pay £5 for the Ben Lomond one yesterday. But the Arrochar ones are daylight robbery.
Beinn a Ghlo is a massive hill dominating the south side of Glen Tilt. I did all the tops from the north after camping up on the Tarf, the last day of a 6 day Exped from Tomintoul. Glad you had good weather for this trip, and thanks for sharing.
thanks Tony- I think the dog enjoys the walks and she never gets tired - just keeps going and going - not bad for such wee legs!!lol Thanks for watching ATB Murray
This resonates with my walk back out after the third summit Carn Nan Ghabhar last June because I instantly recognised that first one you climbed. I must admit that does look interesting Murray from a different angle asaposed to the WH reports where most follow Carn Liath first and then onto the second that no hiker can pronounce!! Excellent as always mate, thanks 👍
I can see I'm not the only one to be entranced by Lexie's ears flapping in the wind - and it seems she is one smart pooch too! When I climbed Beinn a' Ghlo a few years ago I made a mental note to come back and climb Airgiod Bheinn, but I haven't got round to it yet. It's quite a striking peak. I think the name means silver mountain (I don't speak Gaelic but I looked it up a while ago).
Loved that video Murray...loved the way the boss sat in front of the camera lol :). Lovely lines and shapes of the mountains too... M I've a cat who doesn't hike haha might be time for an upgrade :)
@ScotlandsMountains I have started a jew fashion lol i have exactly the same yellow trousers as you lol for the last 3 yrs I think...lol but yours are way cleaner :)
Superb video as always Murray. Swear that kinesis jacket is almost part of your skin how often you wear it! Have to make your way over to South Wales for a day in the future.
Its a grand jacket - really like it and nice and cosy for the weight of it too :) Would love to come to Wales for a hike sometime - in fact I have a plan that involves Wales but is likely a wee while off in the making yet!1 Thanks for watching ATB Murray
As you said there is a path up that’s much easier to find going down except for the last 150m which is just a Heather bash to the other path / across the stream. It’s slippy/ screw in the way down.
I'll refrain from ranting about the rip off charges here in the Lake District car parks 🤬 That £5 with some of the money being put to good use is rather good in my books! Beautiful Lexi by the way, and another great video 🙂
Fabulous area to hike 😎 Took me three goes to get the one at the end, and I walked in the path you did and up the gully to the side to make sure I got it on the third go 🤣 Good luck 🍀
it certainly is a lovely area for hiking - so many corries and ridges to explore on Beinn a Ghlo - think I will be back to explore some more parts I haven't gone up soon :) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Hi Murray, brilliant video again, we knew it was windy not by the noise but by looking at Lexi’s ears! 🤣 Thank you as always for sharing your days adventure, all the best, Dave.😀⛰🥾🏴
Got to agree with you on the paying for parking.. when you see the size of the boulders they are moving around to create the paths & drainage I really don’t mind contributing to that effort 😂
It looks bloomin hard work to make these paths for sure - the car park would’ve taken a bit of clearing and money to make too :) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Blueberry Muffin, yoiks! One of the most beautiful walks I've seen you on, Murray. Every view so lovely. Would love to see you also do this in the snow... if it gets snow (I suppose it snows everywhere in Scotland). And Murray, what is the difference between a trig point (I think you said) and a cairn? Thanks. Best wishes to you and Lexi from Western Australia.
Thanks Joan, I think I have a video from way back when I did some of the hills here in the snow (a fine outing :)) A cairn is a pile of stones where as a trig point is a concrete trig which was built by ordnance survey when they were surveying the land and compiling maps (or something like that !!lol) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Hi Chris - its not a specific software for maps by adobe after effects - takes ages to make them TBH (usually doubles the editing time ) - I wish there was a simple app - may be one will come eventually - I think Google maps can offer something similar if memory serves me right Thanks Murray
Hi Murray, in Glencoe from next weekend with my daughter and looking for a relatively straightforward Munro to summit camp with access to water. Do you know of anything that would fit the bill ? Thanks for the inspiration as ever.
Sorry Murray, I cannot agree with you on paid car parks these are just further taxes on peoples leisure time, which we pay more than enough for in gear to stay say and enjoy the worst of the day in ,without paying to park our vehicles .
Thank you Murray, great video, Lexie is very clever as most wee dogs are, a set of shapely tops, nice looking hills those 😁
Just love watching your videos

Just a quick question - and correct me if I'm wrong - but I thought that the definition of a Munro is simply a peak over 3000 ft / 914 m?
Hi Murray, brilliant video again, we knew it was windy not by the noise but by looking at Lexi’s ears! 🤣
