Goochie from 1988 to 1993 was absolutely the best batsman in the world. Averaged around 60 during those years. I kind of wish he'd retired right after his 210 vs NZ when he came back in 1994. His average was close to 45 at the time, but he played on for another 10 Tests without much success and it dropped to just below 43. Also, Botham should have retired after this Test, but being on 99 matches I guess he wanted the ton. His final three Tests also damaged his averages a bit.
Smith and Gooch 100 partnership is absolutely brilliant batting!
