- Another shakedown on my 1979 Harley Davidson Shovelhead in preparation for a 800 mile roadtrip to Mount Enterprise, Texas at the 2023 Born Free Texas chopper rally campout. Also my friend Jason gets a new-to-him Harley Davidson Heritage Softail just before our trip to Born Free Texas.

Sounds like i have had the same results , when they run, they are awesome !!!!!! Anything else , your working on it and learning an easier way to get the work done and back in the wind !!!!!👍 Thanks for bringing us along and let Scotty know that we are with him on the new channel !!!!!! God bless you all 🙏
I came back to this video to say it was cool running into you today. Hope y'all make it home safe.
Likewise!
Nothing like cruisin’ in the van and still casting a shadow on 2. Can’t hide that Eagle Spirit.
That Bicentennial is sweet as He!! too btw!
Right about that
I remember jason from older vids of ya. The scooter chair prank call story was hillariois
Lol that was too funny
Cya there.... probably come in on Wednesday....a day early......last year was great.... this should be even better
That 76 bicentennial got me interested in HD when I was a little kid !! My favorite bike !!!
How cool!
Thanks for Sharing!
Sure thing!
That was cool. I'm glad you mentioned Scotty. Ride free my friend.
Will do
Gotta love a good shovel, mine never left me setting on the side of the road, have a blessed week my friend.
Thanks 👍
Hope your ride to Texas with the jockey shift went well.
Went great!
Good luck on the trip. Sorry I'll be missing you all at FA!
Noticed that '76 Liberty Edition at 1st pass of the camera across it...I recall looking at those at dealership when they were new...I liked Bicentennial "cartoon" decals ... Many of those decals got removed & sheet metal repainted.
👍👍That '76 Liberty Addition Superglide 👍👍I feel like I'm 18 again!
Right on
Nice job Like your shovel
Thanks! That makes two of us
My ultimate favorite Bike! I will own one again!😢 so sad i sold mine!!!
Good as always. Rubber Down, Faith Up!! XanBiker
I really enjoyed the music in this one as it goes with going on an adventure like your about to do. That was a cool bike jason got there and kenny's bike sure is looking good. Glad you got the shovel up and going and hopefully no more oil leaks. If i don't' talk to you before you leave ya'll be careful.
It kinda does look like a map of Disney world that tank decal 😉
Sounds good & pretty solid Tramp. Thanks for sharing Jesus
Sounds good
Another good one 👍👍
Thanks, Shane!
Your is my absolute favorite! Beautiful Bike!
Can't wait to see the video from this trip gonna be a good time
Nicely done brother 👊🏼😎
Thanks 👍
Shovel sounds sweet and congrats to your buddy Jason, nice bike!
Thanks, man!
I just bought a buddy of mine 05 soft tail standard for a good deal he lost his hearing in one ear and it messed up his equilibrium. Swore I would never own a twin cam the only reason I did was I did all the mechanics on the bike. I just did the cams , chains and tensioners 1,000 miles ago love the pan in the video and glad you got a riding partner for the trip hope there are no problems and you both have a blast.
awesome video! great to see that handsome bearded rider named Jason lol awesome new bike he got! good times sir
Good seeing you as well, my friend.
LOVE ❤️ 💚💚🧡🧡 THE intro music 🎶 🎵! Also, your videos are some of the only vids I watch through and through, i enjoy your temperament and I know your a brother from another mother. I ask your journeys to be safe and blessed. You da man. I like watching your story progress. Plus I learn a ton about bikes. Ive learned ALOT bro. Still learning dude.
I'll grab a sweatshirt one of these days Cory. Appreciate it brother. Things are tight right now, but I can buy Myself a Xmas present 🎁 ☺️
You and me both are learning. Thanks man
The line looks better
Corey, I have to tell you that watching everyone get ready for the pending road trip is infectious. I think maybe you've struck a nerve and a lot more of us will be at your destination than you may have imagined. That being said I'm looking forward the video where you are traveling down the road......safely. Hoping you have the best of times. Thanks for Sharing!
That would be cool to see so many of you there.
Good luck gentlemen, pack warm!
Long time shovel rider here. From my experience if you use an aircraft sealant on your gaskets your oil leaks will dis appear. The sealer looks like tar and comes in a small jar with a brush applicator. Thats my 2 cents for you.
Thanks for the tip
Caterpillar. "Cat glue " will stop the leaks . To remove you will the release agent.
Like "Indian head gasket shellac" for example ? Nasty smelling stuff. I've used it to seal peacocks on without a gasket before. Goodluck getting it back apart though
Hola Saddle Tramp! Cool video, man. Love them bikes, the shovel sounds great! The link for Scooter Tramp Scotty doesn't work for me. Praying for clear skies and safe travel this next week. Vios con dios, primo! Peace y'all

Richard from Az) Sounds good saddle Tramp I will say a few prayers forbyouvsn your. Keep the videos coming coming
Much appreciated
Great to see all the work on the old bikes. They still have loyal owners. Nice. Thanks for posting.
You bet
Good happy Gaelic background music. My old kick start bike makes me pay if I haven't ridden her enough also, a little temperamental.
They tend to be that way
Good to see you back on the vids. Also pointing out what is important🙏. And yes you are a glutton for punishment shovel man.
good vid mate but give me a Evo any day for long haul rideing.... wich lm about to do QLD to Vic & back bout 5000 mile round trip..

Go for it!
Great video love Scotty
Glad you enjoyed
Hey, check the link , since RUclips has been adding the play button to channel links, it causes it to not work, just re copy it.
Fixed
Great video. I hope all goes well on the ride. Have a great time and stay safe. It was 37 degrees last Wednesday when I left south Virginia.
Yeah the weather has been taking a turn down here too.
They always start on the last kick!!! 😂
I know, right?
I have good luck, giving it a couple blips of the throttle and on the second or third leaving it wide open and prime kicking (sucks the gas straight into the cylinders. Enrich. Ignition. BOOM.
But hey.. every bikes different
Yeah, they're all unique
Good video, and I like the Celtic music.
Electronic ignition is not exactly the best friend of a kickstart setup.
I've always gone with points, and static timed them with the #1 cylinder at TDC, and the points set at .016" air gap, and just breaking open when you rotate them to full advance, using curved pliers.
.030 on the spark plug gap.
Two twists on the throttle, two primer kicks with key off, then choke off and wide open throttle with the key on, backing off when it fires up.
That method has always worked pretty good good for me.
On pans and knuckles, you just rotate the whole distributor to the fully advanced position instead of using the pliers.
Have a safe trip.👍
Points is what I'm running being it's kick only now. A lot more luck with it than with solid state ignition.

Set up the way I've described, my shovels and a Pan always started on 1st or 2nd kick unless there was a problem.
I've also run Bendix/Zenith carbs on the 18 shovels and 1 Pan I've had over the years, because I've never had much luck with S&S on a stock regular rider.
The guys used to call me crazy for that.
Good luck & safe travels! Take an extra bike!😂
Lol... You think?
Safe travels 🙏🏻 And God bless
Thank you, Dennis
Great video. A shakedown is good for a trip like yours. My only advice is to carry a spare kickstand spring. Doesn’t take much space but, take it from someone who’s had one break on the road, it’s well worth it. Have fun, ride safe. Looking forward to your videos of your trip.
Noted! Thanks
Nice work
Another good show love the shovel 😅probably be looking to trade my 01fxstdwhen I get it paid off well keep the rubber down CT of WA
Thanks 👍
Love the shov good luck👍
Now you know that leaks don't happen in the shop, wait until you get to Texas. Hopefully it makes it there and back without too much trouble and as always, CARRY TOOLS! Safe travels my friend.
Tools and then some
Always something before the trip, don't forget your duct tape - zip ties an bubble gum.😅
Lol
It was flooded
Another bike comes to life in the saddletramp garage.
(Will you be taking a life support pack for the bike?) 😁
Something similar
Hype Hype!!
Vroom Vroom
Dont forget your tools , so it wont leak any oil, I mean chain lube . ..
Done. Already packed
I need to get back on the road
Me too
When you get back home, that'll be your new daily rider. Got good vibes !!
We'll see! Lol
What’s the riding season like in Mississippi? I’m moving to Tupelo next month
Been getting kinda brisk here lately. But that's probably shorts and T-shirt weather for others.
Shake, shake shake…
Oil and dirt bottom of the cylinder ...maybe it seemed to me🧐
Maybe
I think the word you’re looking for is temperamental.sounds good like a Harley should.
Where is that shop located?
Saucier, MS HWY 49
Ya don't have to baby a Shovel...But why make them a foot clutch? You had a good Bike but decided to "fucktomises it....
What ever happened to the Tramp? Did you just dis-own her. You havent talked about or rode her in fore-ever. Shame on you, you gotta get her out.
Yeah I know. Just haven't been on it lately due to health reasons. You're right. I need to get it out and blow the dust of of it.
@@SaddleTrampTV you know im just razzing you, but i would like to to see her out running again. Take care.
It's just camera shy.
Lol... Maybe that's it!
Are you still going to born free????????????????????? safe ridin runner down
Leaving tomorrow
If, and that's a big if, you get away with an 800mi trip on this scooter that's great. She'll be ready for some more work.
No doubt
