Congrats Mike and Brian, you have a great mentor. Maybe the club should hand out wrist bands with a color code for the new hams so they can get some special attention when at these events.
Ha,. We had to snow shoe out to out station setup. Then by 5pm it was pitch black the last 2 hours deep in the woods. Then with a couple of flashlights. Packed up and hiked back in. Had a ball 😁K1SFC
@@HamRadioConcepts it was very cool. When we tore down camp it was pitch black and all you could hear wear a few noises in the woods. The night before we had a couple of moose on the trail. Nothing last night . We had a great time.. really enjoy your channel by the way. Very helpful and interesting.
Man I wish we had Elmers (and you are, sharing your knowledge) like you when I started, congratulations to new hams everywhere, we definitely need young blood in the hobby!…. Fantastic channel, super content 😊
Nice video Eric! I worked 1m mobile stationary in michigan. only got to work about 10 hrs and made 86 contacts from 10m all the way down to 160m portable. it was a lot of fun. cant wait till ARRL field day this summer. it was 35 degrees and plenty of snow. icom 7300 and wolf river coil 17 ft vertical from the truck. all the best and 73 de k80b
Wow, great work. However, that looks so tough on you guys weather-wise. 😆 We had around 18 participate from the Bellbrook Amateur Radio Club (BARC) in Ohio. It was a “little” cooler here than your warm QTH. I had a new ham who used my IC718 with my ham stick dipole on 20m. He made his first HF contact and the bug bit hard. Great video.
I gave Mike a lookup on QRZ. Next up get your general. Good luck to him in the future to be broke buying radios like the rest of us haha Also I've been looking at a few of your old Kenwood 74A videos. I pulled out mine to refresh my memory on the settings/functions. Thank you for those.
I really find QRP interesting ! Peter Parker vk3ye walks in the water along the beach there in Australia with his Yaesu FT-817 and he picks up all kinds of stations !! That must be tons of fun !!!
Thanks again for sharing great videos. Your time is appreciated.
Very good vid - upbeat and positive - can't beat that!
