Erlangen 2022 - A Walking Tour of a Beautiful German City 🇩🇪

Erlangen / Germany is a Bavarian city in the Franconian area of the state. With a bit more than 110.000 inhabitants, Erlangen is the smallest of a total of eight large cities in Bavaria. Erlangen is home to a university which we will see on this walking tour.
We start our Erlangen tour after arriving at the train station. We quickly are at the Hugenottenplatz to with the Hugenotten Church. From there we head south to the city center, passing the Neustädter Kirche.
From the city center we get to the Schlossgarten Erlangen which is pretty during fall with all the colorful foliage. This garden faces the baroque palace, which now part of the local university. Some statues from the 1700s can also be seen there.
Back to the inner city center we explore more smaller streets around the university and get to the northern area up until the Altstädter Trinity Church (Altstädter Dreifaltigkeitskirche)
At last we head back to the starting point of our tour - the Erlangen train station and end this Erlangen walking tour.

In erlangen bist du entweder ein Siemens indianer,oder ein student .ich bin hier aufgewachsen,leider sind nicht mehr viele richtige Franken hier.deshalb bin ich vor22 jahren in die usa ausgewandert.aber ich bin stolz das ich ein richtiger Erlanger bin. Einmal Franke fuer immer Franke .

I was born in Erlangen iin 1952 to a German mother and American father .he was stationed in Germany. I went to Erlangen back in the 90's for a visit but dont remember the beautiful city of Erlangen.

Ok, seems you were impressed by the Schlossgarten, in back of the residence. But you missed the jewel of it: the botanic garden!
One very special thing of this town besides it's really big pedestrian area is, that there are no tall buildings, only the churches.
You also missed the beautiful central shopping center "Arkaden".
