You should be ashamed of the trash you let between your legs
You are a snake in the grass who won't hesitate to stab me in the back
Don't mean to be too brash, I'll speak my peace, then you can get back to fucking anything that shows the smallest shred of interest
Every word that leaves your tongue is another lie to break my trust
Keep my name from your thoughts and keep that mouth shut
When the hell did you get so damn caught up in the act of tearing out my heart?
Of all the people I've come across in my life, you are the bottom of the barrel
I know I've said this once but I guess I'll have to be more clear
I'll say it over again and I'll be sure to speak up
Fuck you and your negativity and you can take back all the things you ever said to me
I tried to fix your old ways but you still managed to fuck it all up
And I held you in the highest regard, but now we learn to sleep alone
The thought of it makes my stomach turn, envisioning him sliding off your shirt
And when he climbs on top, do you see my face and wish that it would stop?
Remember this face, this is the last time you'll see it
Now learn to live inside the hell you embrace
No longer blissful in ignorance, my eyes are open wide, I see right through your lies
It's the nail in our coffin, it's the burning of bridges, it's the immeasurable hell, couldn't keep your hands to yourself
“And I held you in the highest regard.” Favorite line. You can’t trust any woman it seems like.
That whole part is fire
This song, this whole album, couldn't come out at a better time
This song is about someone cheating on him, obviously, BUT then there's the song "the burning of bridges" which talks about the complete opposite, of him cheating on someone. Fucking tenuous, a part in both songs says "it's the nail in our coffins, it's the burning of bridges, it's the immeasurable hell, couldn't keep your/my hands to your/my-self"
It's official. After two songs, I'm hooked.
+Rebekah Brunson fuckin same! id only heard this song on RUclips randomly and knew id love the rest
I was hooked at one. But two created an addiction. Hooray for constant repeats
architects feel loving this
Every fucking artist on this damn label is too dam good and talented, another band im gonna be streaming whole albums from for months, Props to Dayseeker, fucking some good quality here
I don't give a fuck what anyone says! This song and Album is fuckin ridiculous! Rory your a one of a kind Singer! Mikes drumming is fuckin awesome and the melodies the guitarist came up with & man the bass is great in this album too!! everything is perfect! This album blew my brains out!
This one needs a music video, I can see the badassery of it already.
This entire was therapy for me as I came to terms about my father's death when I was in middle school
I'd never cheat on Mr. Rory Rod. He's too beautiful a man. Completely straight, but I'm getting pretty gay for Rory.
What about Mr. Ruby Rhod?
man this fits so perfect right now...
I LOVE THIS BAND SO MUCH LIKE YESSSSSSS I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BAND
I can see why Rory thought he was "just a disease" in Sleeptalk.
YES YES YES ! ! !
holy sheeeeeet
All too real for me rn....
where's the props for Dana's feature?
Dana is too good to not get recognition!
Xibalba BTA they finally added him to the title :)
Fuck. I'm digging this so much.
Dammn what Sigurd said was some real stuff , beautifully written comment
Ok. Here goes.
First listen of Dayseeker and I'm so fucking glad I made that random click.
Amazing song. Couldn't help but notice how when the part of "Fuck you.." sounded similar to Northlane.
Damn, this is good. Describes my ex to a T.
Sick as fuck
im digging the guest vocolist
Spookkieee Ya! dana from kingdom of giants is awesome.
Victor Medina I knew that was him. Rory has guest vocals on Kingdom of Giant's album so it makes sense, the song is called Afterglow. They're both incredible singers.
One of my favorites in the scene
This album is so sick!
Just wondering, but why doesn't Dana get a feature credit?
KoistOG He gets credit in the album media. I don't know why InVogue didn't acknowledge him in the video description though.
Dana who?
Trainer Crash Kingdom Of Giants vocalist
Same thing with The vocalist of Silent Planet, he featured in the song Incinerate in the previous Album but never got credit.
bruisers101 it was Nathan Mead of I, Of Helix who featured it. Garrett of Silent Planet featured "Sleep In The Sea"
Literally sounds exactly like Dana from Kingdom of Giants
+Mike S. That's because he's in the song
I came.
I hate & ❤ being able to relate to the lyrics. Move on, u deserve better 👑's.
is the unclean vocalist from silent planet? they sound EXACTLY the same
+UndeadArbitor No they are not. Although they did a song together called Sleep In the Sea.
Rory is such a great dude! Hung out with him after the show it was pretty dope!
his voice is fucking incredible, even if has this "pussy-metalcore"-touch ;) a really really really good vocalist. love it
I'm not a fan of the person mastered this, it could sound so much better, but it sounds too weak
***** yeah I love the band but you are right.
Completely agree with you. I like this band, but the mastering throws me off so bad. I can't really get into the album because of it.
***** It might just be because it got super compressed uploading to RUclips. I know that listening to it on Spotify this song is HUGE.
Andrew Davis Thanks for bringing this info to us cause I'll have to go check that out now.
It still doesn't sound full to me, I just can't listen to it because of that
Why is every song on this album about a relationship problem? It's no different than 3/4 of all the other songs out there today.
he has one about his daughter
Bruh
Cancer Uncontsined is about disease
Lucid Dreamer and God without a Face are songs against religion
Yes im aware im 7 years late lmao
Stop being autistic & u might get some bitches on yo dick
Over on fb, Rory was kind enough to reply to a comment about this, but I am horribly disappointed in the negative, angry feel of so much of this album, and grossly disappointed in all the vulgarity. I absolutely loved what it means to be defeated and couldn't be prouder to call myself a fan of Dayseeker. I still love this band with all of my heart, but I leave this album feeling worse than before I listened to it.
truth654567 I sort of agree with you on this. But i still love this album regardless. But yeah there was a lot more vulgarity on this release
truth654567 im glad im not the only one who felt this way. people tend to write about negative things in order for others to relate to them, but by the end of this album i just felt more sorry for rory than i did connected. still absolutely in love with it though.
Josh Wauer Idk if you have done this already but he did an interview where he talked about some of the topics for a few song if you'd like a little more insight on his mindset and such. Just thought it'd help you guys understand a little haha (:
I understand your point of view and this isn't a reply for a debate but simply as a musician myself. There's a point in a musicians life where they can only write what people want and this album and so mature and natural to them because don't forget they are human beings just like you and me and sometimes you really have to let out what you really feel because remember not every one has the same point of views but we're all trying to find a solution to better what we all live and that's Life.
Franky Delgadillo I am a writer, so I understand what it means to write from the heart. That is not exactly what happened on this album. From rory himself, he said he only wrote about the dark and negative things he was feeling, because he didn't want to be repetitive musically. Holding back the love and positivity that can truly help others going through negative situations, because you fear it is a stylish mistake feels very wrong to me.
