    By all accounts, during his playing days Sidhu used to be a very quiet individual who spent his off time reading. It's remarkable how he has re-invented himself as this hyper and talkative storyteller character. This story is totally made up by the way, Sachin did not go to WI till 1997 and he did not even start opening till 1994 or so. But Sidhu knows what people want to hear.

    So this story must be from India’s tour to the West Indies in 1997. (first ODI). Siddhu is mistaken about a lot of details - the year of the series, the fact that Azharuddin wasn’t captain, the fact that India had won the toss and chosen to bat.
    However what seems genuine is that siddhu and tendulkar went to open the innings together. Sachin scored 44(43), while siddhu scored 5(17). Also, C Ambrose and Ian Bishop were in the bowling line up for the match.

      I also found this scorecard that Ian Bishop recalls to be his first encounter with Sachin - 1990 India's tour match in England against Derbyshire (only Bishop from this story was in that team though). India were chasing, no Ambrose; Sachin played no.3; but Azhar was indeed the captain.

    Sidhu should write science fiction. He is just so good at making up stories.

      @@sachinmehra8733 Oh please...every detail is cooked up. Azzu was not captain. Tendulkar did not hit a six in the 1997 game. He was not 16. It was not his second tour. the first over from Ambrose was faced by tendulkar, etc, etc, etc.

    Sachin!! This is him. Comparing him with anyone would be not less than an insult of cricket itself!! Salute👏🏻👏🏻

      riya malhotra don’t get carried away by fake stories. Our own Dravidian was better than Sachin.

      123jinson u haven’t seen him playing it seems. Dravid of course is another great.

      Sachin was good Batsman but not against quality bowling.

    • @riyamalhotra5161
      @riyamalhotra5161 4 года назад +1

      123jinson you said something exactly opposite. He had only played against the quality bowlers and bowlers like those do not exist bow unfortunately!

    • @123jinson
      @123jinson 4 года назад

      riya malhotra he was technically correct but had bad temperament and had no fighting spirit. Only first inning player. Sunil gavaskar had steel fighting spirit. Can’t imagine Sachin playing great West Indian bowlers like sunny did.

    I had seen this match and this over... This was miserable time for both of tendulkar and siddhu ... Ambrose was menacing.... I think one them got out also.. And the other survived on prayer and luck..

      No. He is a bullshitter. Big difference. If you want to hear a great story teller, listen to Jeremy Coney's description of his tour to WI. Thats great story telling where facts are not made up.
