This makes so much more sense!! Currently 33 weeks with my first baby, I feel hiccups on the lower left side and kicks etc centre right side sometimes a little higher than my belly button. I'm so happy to finally know whereabouts she is. She had been in the breach position for ages at every scan. Hopefully at my next one she'll be head down 🤞🏻❤️
This is so cool glad RUclips recommended this for me. I’m only 22 weeks pregnant right now though so I don’t think this will work for me yet but I feel baby kicking all the time now
I’m 36 weeks and my baby is head down. Hiccups below, Her butt is sticking out left above my belly button and I feel kicks at the right side of my waist. I can’t wait till she’s out🩷🙏🏽
I really love that I found yalls videos. So helpful and informative. I’m 30weeks 2 days. I can feel him hiccup down low and could just tell he was head down. I can feel kicks on both sides though. Or maybe it’s his butt booty bumping lol
Great video! Thank you! When can you start doing this for it to be more accurate? I’m 30 weeks, baby seems to be breech. I’m hoping he flips soon. Thank u!
I didn't know all of this before . I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant first time mon . But I could feel baby movement in the upper left side of my bump mostly . And hiccups at the bottom so I assumed baby head is down there and his back is in the right side of my bump . And when went for my ultrasound at 33 weeks the doctor told me I was right 😁 I felt like I had achieved great success 😂 now I still can feel baby hiccups at the bottom but I can feel movement on both sides of my bump 🤔
Im 35weeks pg. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it was to have her pressing on her belly. Mine is so uncomfortable to have anything touching it. Praying mine isnt breech anymore! Hope everyone has a great pregnancy and birth ❤
Very informative, I never realized you could actually feel the body parts. I’m 25 weeks right now, would it still be as accurate or is this more for closer to full term?
I honestly cannot tell at all. Only where he kicks/punches which is all over the place. 😂 Right now my whole belly feels squishy. When I wake though, i see two large bulges across my belly. That's the only time i can feel him 😅
Because ultrasound has radiation, just like x rays, it's not good for the baby to do it so often. Ultrasounds aren't exactly free either. And it's nice to know the position of baby anyway.
Accessibility-it’s easier to do a belly palpation to determine position as opposed to have an ultrasound. In a hospital setting ultrasounds may be more readily available though
@ashleychanelle9668 ultra sounds don't actually use the same technology as x-rays, they use high-frequency sound waves that are safe for mothers and babies (at least no studies have proven otherwise). Here in Japan I get an ultrasound at each prenatal visit, which already amounts to at least 7-8 so far...
@@ashleychanelle9668no actually they are not like x-rays. Ultrasound uses sound waves that echo off of structures depending on the density of the tissue and are received by the transducer. Kinda like how submarines and bats use echo location to figure out how close/far away things are. The differences in density of tissue will make structures appear more light or dark giving an image contrast to make out organs, ex: bones are high density so they are bright and fluid filled structures like stomach and bladder are dark because the sound moves faster in tissues with more water in them. Hope this helps people better understand Ultrasound.
You will be a terrible midwife! It’s obvious you like your job and you are very good at it :) A question: how often do babies change their position? Mine seems to be head down for months now. I wonder if some babies stay in the same position throughout the whole pregnancy?
Baby is also considered a fetus when they are in utero, so medical terminology will refer to the baby as fetal, such as fetal station (how high or low baby is in the pelvis) and so on. Understanding the medical terms is important.
22 weeks here and learning this now in advance! Can feel kicks but hopefully this becomes clearer as the weeks go on 😅

Hello, have you confirmed is she is head down? :)
@aslids4770 she was and fully engaged!! I've had her now, happy healthy 9 pound 4 ounces chonky bubba born 27th November 🥰❤️😂 xx
This is so cool glad RUclips recommended this for me. I’m only 22 weeks pregnant right now though so I don’t think this will work for me yet but I feel baby kicking all the time now

Oh you’re so close to meeting her!!
Well done. You're such a great teacher.
I appreciate that!

This was a great video! Thank you!
This is so helpful! Thank you 😃
You're so welcome!
Informative ❤
Is this the same with anterior placenta placement ?
Yes it is! it may be a little harder to tell though.

My is also 37 weeks
@@nourach3041 yes he or she is head down
😊😊
God bless you and your baby. Congrats. I'm 21 weeks with my 4th. Hope you're doing well.
I lost my baby 5 days ago
The problem comes when the placenta is anterior...you just don't feel anything but the harder kicks 😄🙈❤️
Ah yes my second had an anterior placenta and it was definitely harder to feel what he was doing!
Am anterior bt i feel each n everytime i feel he or she is doing summer saults😂all day long
I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy. I only felt my daughter's hiccups
Im 35weeks pg. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it was to have her pressing on her belly. Mine is so uncomfortable to have anything touching it. Praying mine isnt breech anymore! Hope everyone has a great pregnancy and birth ❤
It wasn't too bad! If belly is uncomfortable to touch, you may find that a belly band could be helpful to release some tension!
Can you still do this with an anterior placenta? I’m almost 33 weeks and am having a harder time to feel the difference between head and butt!
You can but it may be a little harder! If you wiggle the head, you shouldn’t feel the body move as much when compared to the butt
What causes me to frequently use the toilet? Could it be positioning of the baby?
Baby may be pushing forward onto the bladder bc of a tighter back half of your pelvic floor
Try these exercises for some relief: mamastefit.com/third-trimester-fitness-6-pelvic-floor-moves-to-prep-for-birth/
I can’t feel anything 😭 I have an anterior placenta
Same girl 😢
It’s definitely harder to tell!
Am 36 weeks and am having pain in the belly area where the baby's knee is placed. It get worse when the belly tightens. How can i get some relief?
Very informative, I never realized you could actually feel the body parts. I’m 25 weeks right now, would it still be as accurate or is this more for closer to full term?
Usually closer to 32/34 weeks will be easier! You may be able to feel where their back though!
My midwife was able to determine my baby's position at 23 weeks. So it's possible but she is very well trained
And as now am 28weeks
I still have no idea where's she's at😭
Usually it’s easier when you’re closer to your due date!
Nice. Am 37weeks and my baby is head down
I wish you can map my belly you are so gentle
My baby has cord around neck at 18 week and also in variable position. Can he come to head down
Yes! Their vestibular system develops around week 24 where they figure out up v down. There is plenty of time!
❤❤❤
I feel nothing that is hard like a head or a butt, kicks are everywhere makes me sad that i cant figure it out 😭(30weeks)
I feel hiccups down but my baby is right oblique
Their back is probably lower
I feel kicks down the very end of my tummy I think he’s breech I’m 28 weeks
It could be their feet and they’re all curled up but head down! I found an ultrasound at 28ish weeks was reassuring for me in my own pregnancies
I honestly cannot tell at all. Only where he kicks/punches which is all over the place. 😂 Right now my whole belly feels squishy. When I wake though, i see two large bulges across my belly. That's the only time i can feel him 😅
What will do when you feel baby is lying across

My baby is hyper 😂she likes kicking on my right side but my left side I can tell she likes hitting mama with her arms 🤭 she definitely wants out lol
What if my baby is breach ???

You lost me at “fetal parts” good gracious
Shucks
Why don’t you just do an ultrasound to avoid guessing games ?

i personally cannot do ultrasound weekly (or daily) somedays felt like the baby is breech or has too much movement 😅
You will be a terrible midwife!

I hope you mean terrific midwife and not terrible 😳… but usually baby will stay head down if they’re head down at 28 weeks!
Why call baby's limbs "fetal" limbs. It's not a fetus it's a BABY
