Aww Alex, keep doing you my friend. A lot of kids your age and even adults still don’t know what they want to do in life. Heck I changed my major 4 times when I finally realized I wanted to be a social worker and it took me 6 years of college to figure out my plan. But your only 18 and you still have time to figure out what you want to be. That is what life is all about. It’s about making mistakes, figuring out who you are, and learning as you go on this journey. Don’t feel pressured by society because they don’t know who you are as a person. In the words of Kelly Wakasa “do What Excites”!!!!

Alex, you're an amazing young man. Please take a breath and don't stress too much. My daughter was an A student and attended 1 semester of college and realized it wasn't for her so she took a break. She's 21 and feels the same as you because she's scared she will never figure out what she wants. I could see it hurt her deeply but I told her its okay to stay at home and figure out her journey when the time is right for her. I feel it will all come into place as it should be and you don't have to be on a time limit with other 18 year olds. I feel half the time they may be living through their parents dreams. Just take it easy love, God has a plan for you. Wait for it 💖💖🤗

Dear Alex, you're one the most amazing young men, that I have had the privilege of ever getting to observe online. You have such an openness to love and life, despite your tough journey. It's wonderful, that you have finally found your true parents and family, that accept and appricate you just for who you are. Your family has reflected back your inherent "loving radiance" and now you reflect it back to the world. Everyone has to be who they are, for everyone else is already taken. Some shine brighter than others (doesn't mean than anyone else is more valuable than than anyone else), and you are one of those that really shine out. Your parents knew that the minute they lied eyes on you.

First of congratulations Alex on graduating high school. I’m so excited for your new chapter. I just wanted to share with you that you are not alone in the confusion after high school. I graduated in 2013 and I was set to go to college right out of high school. Then unforeseen circumstances came along and I moved back to my birth state with my mom ( to mention my parents are separated and I moved from my home and family so I could go to high school in California for better education. I’m originally from Hawaii). It’s 2021 and I just turned 26 and I now figured out that I do wanna go back to school and start doing something with myself. Just because you don’t know what you wanna do with your time right now that’s okay. Eventually as time goes by and you find something your interested in and want make a career in whether that be RUclips or going back to school. You do what makes you happy. It all works out in the end. It just takes some time. I love all of your families channels I follow them all.

From the looks of things, it looks like you and James got plenty of experience behind and in front of the camera. I graduated college in Broadcasting and it was the most fun I've had in school. Alex first off I want to say thank you for sharing that with subs.life is not like football where you are handed a playbook and told to memorize it. You go through many stages in life with each year preparing you for the next stage. When you graduate that is your time. Time to ponder what’s next. Many people set a goal and stick to it even if it’s not satisfying or brings you joy. Alex you entire family loves you and supports you. Follow your heart and test the waters. But heck you just graduated and moved. You are a big kid and been through a lot in life. Make this summer one to remember. Write down ideas of what could be your next move. You have the rest of your life to do the whole {Adulting} thing. Follow your heart, it will help lead the way. 💙✌🏼👍🏼

But I think that your parents, family (also your brother Josh and cousin Spencer) and friends as James have always shown you that common sense, patience and passion can bring you on track and far.
You belong to an "un-traditional" but loving, successful and happy family.

Both your Mom and Dad managed to find a vocation in life corresponding with their talents and morals.

Thank you for sharing your sentiments and emotions with us.

Congratulations on your Graduation! I remember being 18 and feeling totally lost. I had no clue what to do with my life. I had to grow up a lot more and tried a lot of different things. I went to a local Junior College for a couple years but didn’t like what my parents made me study so I quit. I worked at convenience stores, I cooked at a local diner, cleaned houses, babysat my nieces, etc. When I was 24, I was finally ready to go back to school. I got my Bachelor or Science degree in Education but through circumstances at the time I ended up being a social worker and also teaching at a Psychiatric hospital for Children for many years and then working with the elderly and disabled population for the State of Oklahoma. That’s the cool thing about life, you just try your best, love and live in the moment, try to learn from your mistakes and you’ll be good. I’m sure that’s all your parents would want for you too. God bless you as you go through your journey! You’ve got this!

College is not the be all end all, and there’s also a lot of amazing trade schools out there if traditional education isn’t for you but you still want further schooling. Many people are not sure what they want to do when they grow up. No one is an expert on day one. Life is full of trying new things. Enjoy that!
Clearly you have put a lot of pressure on yourself to be stellar. You are just beginning. Your folks have learned a lot about this in the last 5+ years. Although you were there, it will still take you time to work some of the kinks out. Striving to be the best is okay, but remember that it’s okay to just do better than the last time and learn along the way.
As for school. I had dyslexia and ADD untreated. I get not doing well in school. I found when it was my choice to go learn and not something that society required ( like high school), I excelled. Our daughter went to college to get a biology degree with plans for Veterinary school. At college she was required to take general education credits. She fell in love with a few classes and teachers. She ended up double majoring in religious studies and classical studies, and double minoring in Art History and Dance. Clearly, she didn’t become a vet! She went on to decide to get a masters in Museum Studies. She adores working with museum collections. These were not things on her radar at 18.
Point here is, try some things. Maybe online courses of things that sound interesting. Maybe you are a hands on guy and would enjoy mastering a trade. Your options are unlimited right now. Take advantage of the freedom to choose while you aren’t needing to put a roof over your head yet.
It’s also okay to change your mind along the way. What do you enjoy?
Remember, a successful channel has to have something that brings in the viewers and keeps them coming back. Your big family has us coming back to the Crazy Pieces Vlog, watching the kids grow up, but your family is also having to do everything else that a family does as well, not just vlog. I’m sure it’s very stressful on your folks.
Point here is, do some other things too, so you can have more insight into things before you jump in to anything 200%.
Love you guys and I have faith that you will find your way!!!
    Keep smiling and Stay Well,
    -Drue

Some are lucky and have a particular passion, but definitely not everyone! You are so young and have time to try ALL the things! If school isn’t for you, try something else! If that thing doesn’t work out, try something else! I’m 43 and only really found the thing I wanna do about 8 years ago! It’s taken me several years to turn it into a successful job, but I did it! Dear Alex , congratulations 🎉🎈🎊 you did that , very proud ☺️❤️.. the best policy : “never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” … play the game of life , of adulthood .. it’s very scared and uncertainty sometimes BUT the best things/experiences in life came after overcome this uncertainty feeling and trying new things to find who you are as individual and find you own way . You family forever be by your side , supporting you ❤️❤️❤️ .

    Hi Alex!
I don’t like to comment videos but in this case I felt like I need to. You guys ( James and you) are killing it.
I’m 25 and still struggling with what my path is trough life. Two years ago I went to medical school and the last year I figured that med school wasn’t for me. It was a hard time for me and I went through depression. Now I’m starting a new degree that I like a lot but still figure if it fits to me. You are young and it’s ok if you don’t know yet. Listen to yourself and your parents. Live the moment, have fun and keep going dude. 💪🏼

Don't compare yourself to other people Alex. There is no set timeline to follow. Some people have everything figured out at 14 and others when they're 40, and that's totally okay. I think you're doing amazingly for your age and I have no doubt that you will succeed at youtube or whatever other career you might decide to follow. You are so young - enjoy it!

Plus if you’re like me I see past all the social pressure college seems like a huge party too most of the people I graduated with are drinking their lives away. Just do you be you for you✊🏼

    Alex, you do you!
Your parents accept u for who u are.
I can see in U that someday soon U will be a Motivational Speaker.
Not everyone goes to college/university. Some people go to learn a trade ; to become a mechanic, or beauty school, or whatever their heart takes them...
Some teenagers adults take a gap year and travel until they can figure out what they want.
There is also coaching football or other types of interesting types of jobs that are out of the box.
But your parents are not kicking u out of the home. They have enough space and are always open for more in their hearts 🏠and home.

Here you have a 22 year old who still doesn’t know where her life is going, but don’t stress, this is how it is.
You just have to do whatever you feel, work hard to get what you want and enjoy your life and your youth the best you can. And for the whole moving out at 18 thing, don’t panic, here in Spain us young people can’t afford moving out until we’re at least 24 ✌️🥲 it isn’t something basic to move out at 18, enjoy your time with family, and enjoy your youth and the bond you built with your siblings, that’s awesome. A lot of love and support ✨

Hey there Alex! I am a mom of 4 sons. So, I kinda know what you are saying. Let me be the first to tell you, (Maybe I'm NOT the first to say this, but I'll say it anyway.) The fact that you graduated, moved, help your family out so much, plus do a RUclips channel is waaay more than a lot of young adults your age do!! First, do not be so hard on yourself. Relax and take a deep breath. I applaud you for your graduation, your candidness and your honesty. Your attitude is so refreshing.
    Here is some perspective...
My oldest son will be 20 in a few weeks. He should have graduated last school year, but he didn't have enough credits. He is smart, talented and a hard worker. But when he was a sophomore, he had some mental health issues and I pulled him out of school to go to a facility for about a month. It was the best thing for him and if he hadn't gone, he may not be here today as he was suicidal. No one knew he was having problems. Like I said, he was doing pretty great. He was in all city choir, had a lead part in 'Footloose the Musical', was the lead singer of his high school rock band and some other pretty cool stuff. But like a lot of young people your age, he had some pent up feelings he had to sort out. So, fast forward to today...my oldest son has not graduated yet. He is doing classes on line, playing in a band, and working at Dollar General. My second son graduated this year, and my oldest son was in the stands cheering for his brother! Did he feel bad his younger bro was graduating before him? Kinda. But he was so happy for his bro because his bro is special needs and he worked 10 times harder than his peers to get to graduate! It was joyful occasions and we celebrated as a family...the same way we support all of my sons with whatever they do. See, you don't HAVE TO have a plan and get a doctorate degree, join the military, or start a family. Don't feel like you need to go with the flow of others in order to feel adequate at this chapter of your life.
Make a list of things you need to do and a list of the things you want to do. It really helps to get out of a rut and make some decisions. Life is about perspective. Ask people you trust and admire for advice and see what clicks to you. Then make a realistic plan. Get a job or take a year or two off of school. Don't rush into college classes if you aren't sure what you want to do yet. You'll use up all your financial aid on classes you aren't going to use and it will bring on new stress.
I hope I didn't sound like a clanging gong or a nagging mom, but I wish someone would have taken the time to tell me these things.
You are a great individual, a super brother and son the Aaron and Crystal. You have a good head on your shoulders and your attitude is amazing. You will accomplish so much, in good time. Enjoy life my friend! God bless you in all of you do.

idk if its gonna help in any way, but just so you know, here in brazil we dont really think about moving out at 18 (at least around me, the only ppl i know moved out was bc they had to move cities or countries to study, but since most ppl i know look for universities and colleges in their hometown thats not even thaaaat common) and now that im at uni i know A LOT of ppl almost graduating or a lot older than me in their 20s that still have no idea what they really want to do professionally. you're still super young and you're a lot more successful than you realize lmao dont worry, im sure you will be super successful in any path you choose to walk, no matter if it takes weeks, months or years to decide which one it is :) proud of u for graduating!!
