The $50 Vegas Buffets have gotten so bad that $20 Golden Corral starts looking good. LOL.
I was at the blackjack table in Harrah's N.O., I asked if there was a good buffet, the pit guy said "golden corral"... I laughed, then noticed he wasnt kidding! LOL

I'm originally from Los Angeles California, and would always see the Golden corral restaurants there. Thank you for taking the time to show us 😊 Food looks really good, and they have a lot of choices 👍😊
I've been to a few. Hoover, AL, Kennesaw, GA, Merrillville, IN, Westland, MI. There is also one in Vegas (Charleston and Lamb), and one in Henderson (Stephanie and Sunset). I'm guessing they're independently owned. Their cuisine seems to take on the local area's flavor. I would love it if you could check one of the Vegas area locations some day.

Yes its a great place , I go to the one on I-20@ great southwest parkway. I live in the Red Oak area . its about 20 miles one way , but that is the closest one !

Be careful walking at night but I could see you were scanning the area, those under passes are a little scary.

So, after two years of watching and rewatching this and your other GC video, I finally made the rather long 40-minute drive out to A GC here in northern VA. I went early so I could take advantage of the early bird/senior price of $9.99. Verdict? The fried chicken was sooo good! The pot roast was also quite good. They had BBQ ribs that tasted good but was not falling off the bone. I ate a bunch of other things, all of which was "meh." Overall a good meal especially considering the price, but not good enough where I must go back anytime soon. But next time I visit my mom in California, there is one five minutes from her house.😀

Golden Carrol is surprisingly good. The pot roast is actually some of the best pot roast Ive had. Steaks arent half bad. Fried chicken is bomb. The only thing that isnt good is the pizza but thats for the kids anyway.

Pizza will vary from locations, some i tasted bad, others reallly good; corral will vary in terms of food taste, something to do with workers I think>? or hm. Its why they get bad reviews; your experience will vary. but once you find a good location and workers, good stuff.
You really get a good deal if you love a good salad bar and American food. Salad bars are hard to find.
Ruby Tuesdays had a great unlimited salad bar... Back when I went that was.... long ago...
The GC in Conroe is just as good. Was ready to go out and get dinner.
Dear Danny, Arlington TX is not in the middle of nowhere. It is the 2nd largest city in DFW next to Dallas. Arlington is also home to the Cowboys Stadium, Six Flags, the TX Rangers Ballpark and many other amazing entertainment facilities. Also, UT Arlington which has one of the largest nursing programs in the state, maybe even the US. It may seem like the middle of nowhere because everything is so spread out in TX compared to the rest of the United States. I hope you had a chance to partake in other local activities while you were here and I hope you enjoyed your stay. Peace out.

A plug for Arlington. Take away Gov. Abbott and Texas is very nice. Old infrastructure falling apart needs to be addressed.

We go to the Golden Corral about once a month in Fort Worth. They are inexpensive and they had decent food. Their salad bar was always fresh, and clean. That would be a good sign for the other foods. Their fried chicken was the best.

I drive to Tracy ca from North Fremont ca to go to a Golden Corral because it's that good. You have to try the yeast rolls.

we have one of those here in manassas va but i like the “great American buffet” in manassas better, but both are good. please see if there is a Great American buffet in your area, but if not, you need to get your toosh over to northern va and try it out.

The only thing I don't like about buffets is so many hands touched the serving spoon's and tongs. People at their table lick their fingers, cough in their semi closed fists, touch their faces, all kind of body parts. I go get a plate, spoon and fork pick what I want with the fork and spoon. Next time I go back, new plate, spoon and fork.

so many people touch the tongs, then lick their parts, then with the same hand go and get a brand new plate. The plates are stacked so their hand not only touches the top plate, but also the plate underneath it, which is the plate you end up getting! *horror emojie* .
but honestly, there is only one thing I would worry about in this scenario, is when I will be eating with my hands instead of a fork or chopsticks. where the touching of those mass handled tongs may transfer norovirus. :)

Correction: Arlington is the 3rd largest city in DFW...Dallas being #1, Fort Worth being #2.
We eat there a lot. The pot roast is super tender and its gravy is delicious. 👍 We always hand our tip to the server because sometimes one of the customers will pick up the money on their way out.

Price seems cheap????? Especially during mass inflation. I am surprised one adult isnt at least $16 or more.
Nice review, funny, as always. Ok, Danny, I noticed you avoided a few things. Here is a hint next time. Get one of those soup bowls, take a corn bread and crumble it up in the bottom of the bowl. Then place a scoop of those greens (not the Kale looking ones, the other one's) on top of the corn bread, then finish off the with a scoop of the Black Eyed Peas and top it off with five or six pieces of the fried okra. They will think you're a local.

Danny being on the road I've eaten at various Corrals and surprisingly, although a "chain", the food/quality differs at each one sometimes
makes me wonder how mcd and wendys and such are able to have such consistency..
It also makes a big difference on how busy the Golden Carrol is. If they are doing good business, the food gets rotated out quickly and stays fresh. If its a slow day, the food can dry out in the bins. Also management can make a big difference no matter where you go.
I used to like Golden Corral. Too bad they seem to have gone out of business since Covid-19 restrictions.

@@dannythemedic I could see that it was slow. Our restaurant in town used to be busy all the time before they closed. It seems that the Covid-19 restrictions have permanently closed most buffets, which is sad - for the customers and the people that used to work there.
I hated those stupid covid restrictions.. I was rolling my eyes every day for two years!

There are some rice dishes (e.g. Spanish paella and Chinese clay pot rice) where people want the rice to be hard and dry.
Mr Danny, A BIG NO NO in a restaurant for a cashier/cook! What happen to their HYGIENE AND SANITATION rules!?!?!?! Perhaps, the Manager have no idea about sanitation.

Very salty food. Most veggies are from the cans. I'd rather spend my money at either In and Out burger or Whata burger.

It was fried okra, a common southern dish.
We had 2 senior early bird meals and 1 adult lunch w/soda. It came to $35.28 and my husband gave the kid $40. The kids gave my husband back $35.28. I had to tell this kid what he had done and he was so thankful for our honesty. Karma is a bitch and if your not honest it will come back to bite you. As far as the food tasted we enjoyed most of the items we had.
I dont believe in karma, I do the right thing whenever I can, because my heart tells me to. ALSO, people learn from mistakes that have great consequences. I woulda kept that money so I can help that kid become a better human being in the future... LOL just kidding just kidding :)
our local GC sucks.. picked over old food, empty pans, staff not bothering to replace empty items.. we avoid them now

I love Golden Corral. They are getting hard for find up here in Seattle. I'd agree it looks generic and the presentation is "school lunch". The food does the talking. Once again a hole in the wall is best.

That's a good idea. How would I walk out without getting caught? I haven't been there in a while. It's kind of ghetto, but I'd get my money worth if I could sneak out with a few extra leftover meals.

This is a steal of a deal.. so much variety. Vegas buffets are such a ripoff these days. Would rather eat here than at most Vegas buffets these days.
i do hope vegas buffets return to their glory of the past... some of my favorites were the Aria, bellagio, and the sterling brunch. sigh...
@@dannythemedic tried Bellagio in the past and found the taste too fancy for my buds. Before there was Bachannal I believe the Wynn had the best buffet.

Golden Corral in Arizona is awful. The place is dirty and the food is either too salty or bland.
All the dishes there look old l would have asked for a refund and left.

The narrator should have brought along someone who knows the menu. I have not been in a GC in more than two years, and I could tell you what all the dishes are...I'm just saying.
ah.. I will explain. my videos are vlogs of my experiences, which I put up on youtube for entertainment of others... because it is vlogs, I keep it as REAL as it can be, and these are how my experiences are naturally. Some ppl say I shouldnt do a video of a buffet at 3pm because it is not fair to the buffet OR they say I should learn about the food before making a video, or this and that, but they are thinking of real professional TV or something... I just do vlogs, I get hungry at 3pm, or I would go and try something new and not know about it... and I also am the type that dont ask what something in a buffet is if I dont know it and there is no sign, I am just that kind of person and my videos reflect that.. i thank you for commenting!

Some Golden Corrals are great and some are bad. It's a complete hit or miss.
