While we don't sell the fabric or screws, or "kit" we do list all of the items that can be purchased individually here: www.pvcfittingsonline.com/resource-center/pvc-elevated-dog-bed-plans/ We hope this helps!
Pardon our delayed response. We believe that this would work but, you would likely need to ensure your thread is strong. You may also need more fabric than what is mentioned in our video.
This may vary depending on the weight of the dog and the force of which they lay down. You may need to replace the fabric over time, but we have not experienced tearing at the point of the screws with our use.
The PVC pipe and fittings can roughly hold dogs over 100lbs. The fabric is likely to give out for heavier dogs faster than the PVC. You could go up to the 2" size pipe for a stronger PVC if your dog weighs over 100lbs. Getting the fabric as tight as possible will be key. You could also consider making the legs longer to provide more of a gap between the fabric and the floor for bigger dogs. I wouldn't go higher than 3 more inches.
Hi Peter, we have 1-1/4" fittings on our site. www.pvcfittingsonline.com/1-1-4-3-way-pvc-furniture-fitting-side-elbow.html 1" may not be strong enough.
We have a Leonbergers they are over 100 pounds each and we use the 1 inch pvc I have not tried drilling the fabric on we sew it and thread the PVC thru
Ordering from us using the same size pipe/fittings the cost of the PVC before shipping will be about $33. You'll still need to buy the screws and fabric from another source.
About 40-50lbs. The PVC should hold up well. The fabric and cloth is where the most issues will be due to weight, just like any fabric stretched over time it may need to be adjusted or replaced. If you have a larger dog 60lbs+ the 2" Pipe and fittings may be stronger. Along the larger sections of the bed it's possible to add a T fitting, pipe and end cap for more support there.
Thanks. Quick and easy to make a custom size bed.
What would be awesome is if someone put together an economical kit. The pre-made beds I see online are extraordinarily costly!

Excellent!!!
Glad you like it!
After flipping the frame together take a mallet and tape all of the couplings so the bed is tight then put the cloth on.
Would sewing the fabric and then running the pipe through work well also?

Good video. I need dimensions of bed and cloth fabric for 95 pound GSD. Thx
Did you find tearing of the fabric at the point of the screws?

How much weight will this support roughly?

I could not find 1 1/4" fittings so I am trying with 1". Do you think it will be strong enough for a female GSP?

Thank you! I thought this looked like a great project (and it is) but I have a big dog. At that cost might be better just to buy.
Average weight capacity?
