Hey man! I love this mod. You called your bike an FZ, but the video is of an MT. Do you know what year MT's this works on? I have a 19 MT-07, and I absolutely think this would slap on it.
TST industries has a turn signal relay that will get rid of the fast blink if you dont like it. It also has a potentiometer inside so you can customize how fast or slow you want your signals to blink.
This is amazing! I wanna do this too! I now have instaled the 2020 headlight on a 2016 FZ 07 still need to rewire the signals but already buying stuff for this project hahah
@@tactiiczz4764 it can be black/smoke but white allows the light to pass through easier. If you have really bright led’s then you can probably get away with the smoked one!
It looks really cool but I don't think it's street legal when signals aren't visible from the side. I plan to copy your thing in the summer but I'll try to make the mesh covers convex so they'd protrude out a bit. Will share the result when (and if) I finally get to it. The idea itself is genius!
That's my thoughts aswell. As you can't see the signals themself, I'm wondering if I could just cut the mesh into the indicator shape so it'll be "visable" lol
I'm pretty sure every option other than the OEM whale tail is illegal in the EU lmao. Could try your luck with turn signals on the passenger pegs? It's way more work than this method, but it looks really clean IMO.
@@user-uq4ly6fp6m It's legal to use 3rd party components as long as they have the homologation for public roads. You can also use a self made components but you need to go through the homologation process yourself which is rather easy (assuming your components fulfil all the requirements) but costs quite a bit of money and time, and after that you need to register the whole vehicle as self-made which makes yearly checks a nightmare. It's just too much trouble.
For nyone wondering about legal status of this modification in EU regulations. I’ve done some digging. And it seem like it is not. Sadly Would comply with most specifications, apart from the maximal distance from the end edge of the bike. Which must be max. 30 cm. I am still considering do to do it. Only with reinstalation of the original for the technical check in mind. Hope this helps! Safe travels.
I went through your link to try to find the turn signals, but it seems like you had a link for everything else except for the turn signals. By chance, do you remember where you picked them up?
get an electronic flasher off of ebay to make the turn signals flash at a normal rate. they are cheap and really make it look way more professional. just my 2 cents. thanks for the video.
Can I ask a favor I live on Guam and they don't sell it here. Can you give me the official name of the paper and thickness I needed so I can get some one in the states to get it for me. I have no clue what this filaments offical name is called. I tried to exspain but it did not go over very well. Your assistance would be appreciated. Mike United States Navy Retired
Does anyone know if this will be legal in the uk? I personally don't see an issue as they're spead apart but you can't see the indicator itself... Soo.. i'm not sure where we stand on that :(
Thanks! Idk how i got the idea. Just looked like a good spot to mount them as i wanted to clean up the rear end more. As for visibility, if you're right behind me you can see them. If you are on my left tho you wouldn't be able to see me signalling right. But overall haven't had any issues in group rides!
@@Namelessdlb Spacing in the UK is the only legal requirement I know of we need. That's why we can't get tail lights with the indicators. I'm not sure if we need indicators to be visable, like the unit itself. I might just cut my mesh so you can see the indicator itself, it'll still look clean af & hopefully be legal. Unless you need them on the outside of the motorbike :( then if so... we're fucked.
Average Fz07, you are in Calgary, like me right.? Would you like to come join a pile of us Sport Bike Riders at GW Cycle World store on May 15th 2022.?
I am from Calgary! Is that their annual BBQ? Haven’t seen any posts about it in the Facebook groups yet but yeah was planning to attend once I found the date haha
YES Sir :-) Did you maybe attend back in 2016, 2017, 2018 or 2019.? I don't use Facebook, but there is a official posting about it on the "403 Riders" page. :-) It's on the 15th of May this year (not the 1st)

Man thats the one of the coolest mods i seen so far on an fz07. U earned my Sub bro cheers🤟
Makes the bike so much cleaner
It really does! Cleans up the rear end nicely!
Nice work! Now you just need an LED indicator relay so they don't flash so quickly ;-)
Such a simple idea and easy to do.
Good job mate and thanks fir the step by step!
Anytime! Glad you enjoyed it!

Appreciate that! Have a few videos coming soon!

what a brilliant design!
Agreed ☺️
Brilliant 👏!!that's dope dude!

Very cool. May give this a go at some point. Would be great if this had dual use, like brake and indicators

That’s badass I’m doing that on my first bike
Is there a way to do this as well as keep the original indicators? Looks cool and might help being noticed on the road 🤟

Great job not sure what type or thickness on the translucen film. Can you give some input and what does the film do.
I just used a duo tang from the dollar store. Thickness doesn’t really matter as long as it’s translucent and the light can come through!

Nice man I’m looking to do this to mine, do I really need to buy smaller signals to go in or will the stock ones fit ?
I would try the stock ones. You may be able to make them it!
w/ the tail tidy when you ride in the rain does your back get wet.?
Not really as the rear end still covers a lot. But I don’t ride in the rain usually haha
i got my 2022 MT-07 Aug 5th .....i saw the rear end is different than yours so i can't do that on mine.....Bummer....
you think this could be done on the front?
Probably!!
You dont have a license plate light?
No currently don’t. Haven’t had a problem yet with the cops but also don’t ride at night much
I wonder why the cut out is there
Talk about common sense. That looks fn Awesome 😎. Any feedback from other riders about the visibility? How in the hell did you get the ideal?,,👍💀

@averagefz0749 I know it's been awhile, but how are the turn signals doing? Have you done anymore mods?
What are the indicators actually called?
where did you go to get your bike tuned?

What paint did you use to paint the other accents above your rearsets?
Powder coated them
I tried in on my 2017 and it didn't work at all. Spent 4 hours and in the end, you could hardly see the lights.
1/8th the cost of a tail tidy and in my opinion looks better!
Agreed!
Blows my mind how that license plate is legal in your state. Ha
