It’s a big weekend for the transit system in the Bay Area!
Due to Twin Peaks Tunnel closure, MUNI is providing bus service between Church, Castro and respective line’s outer terminals, while subway operating from Embarcadero to Castro stations. The K Ingleside Bus and L Taraval Bus are being operated by Woods division XDE40s, while M Ocean View Bus are operated by Islais Creek XDE60s.
In this video you can see different buses all jammed at this narrow intersection of West Portal. The temporary stops for the metro buses were also very confusing, as some passengers were waiting at the 48 stop for the KBUS and MBUS, which actually picks up before Ulloa on West Portal. At the same time, you can see a supervisor walking around instructing operators where to stop and helping a lot of confused passengers.
