Hello, I want to thank you very much. I recently found out about ballroom dancing and I'm in love. the bad thing is that in my city there are no places to learn and practice. so these videos are a blessing to me thank you very much. Greetings from Argentina :D
Always interesting to see something that I could be doing wrong, videos of me dancing are always highlight what I’m not aware of. Are there back exercises that you do or could recommend to improve my dancing?
Backward step is technically more difficult. Here is exercise: you go with left foot back, at end of step left heel should touch the foor same time when you collect right foot and feet are passing. Usually dancers tend to lower left heel earlier (you need good balance and strong ankle to control gradual lovering of heel). Chech vertical balance when feet ar passing.
I asume we are talking about figure Closed Change. “Closed” refers to 3rd step which is close one foot to another. “Change” refers to fact that we use this figure (Closed Change) to change free foot, or change from Natural Turn to Reverse Turn (or vice versa).
I stumbled upon this video and I have a question about closing the foot. It has been years since I last do Ballroom Dance (IIRC it's in 2011) but I vaguely remember my dance coach saying the foot must be closed in a cross position when doing one of the turns (I forgot which one). But I don't see any crossing here. Am I remembering wrong?
@@EgilsSmagris Aaah so it's for Viennese Waltz. It's been more than a decade so I mixed everything in my mind. Really need to start learning everything again. Thank you for your response ^^
Sometimes I get a little confused, Euro style different than in the US? Here the man starts in the left foot. And the cute saying is that the woman, or follower, always starts in the right, because the woman is always right 😊
I suggest to start with preparartion step (Man with left foot, Lady with right foot) and then dance Natural Turn. Other possibility is to start with Reverse Turn or Closed Change with left foot, in this case we dont need preparation step. So according to this - "woman is always right" 😊

In Viennese Waltz partner who goes forward crosses foot in front in 3rd step. But in a Slow Waltz or Waltz this is not the case.
